My computer is not playing audio 2,not sound is

Make sure your Volume is not in mute.
Check if your speakers are connected to your PC and switched on.
Then you can try to change the Sound Settings(check Audio>>Sound Playback>>Default Device) in Control Panel.
Try to check with a different set of speakers or headphones.
You can also try to reinstall sound drivers
If none of the above seems to solve your problem, there could be a h/w fault. You could try contacting your PC manufacturer for support.

Check your audio section in bios, if it is enabled then boot the computer and go to control panel and there you have to select "sound and audio devices", now click sound button on the screen and play the windows sound given on the screen your play button will be activated after you select the windows sounds,

If it works then ok else you have to uninstall your sound driver and reinstall the perfect driver for the laptop model

No sound

The sound was not coming because the Audio driver was not available.

Here is the download link for your Audio driver from Dell support site.

http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/driverslist.aspx?os=WLH&catid=3&dateid=-1&impid=-1&osl=EN&typeid=-1&formatid=-1&servicetag=&SystemID=INSPIRONI6400%2FE1505&hidos=WLH&hidlang=en&TabIndex=

the above link is for Windows Vista, but if you are using windows XP, you can change the operating system name to Windows Xp and download the driver.

Note : Your Notebook comes in two flavor in sound card (Sound blaster from Creative labs and Sigmatel drivers)

Download the driver according to your chipset, but if you are not sure download both, one will work fine.

No audio file will play on WMP, no dvd or audio disk will play...

Windows Media Player cannot play several files in the playlist. This might be caused by one or more problems.
To find information about the specific problems, click the Now Playing tab, and then click the blue or red icon next to each file in the List pane.
In some cases, you might encounter this error message if there is a problem with your sound device, such as a sound card or sound controller. For example:
  • Your sound device requires an updated driver. To determine if an updated driver is available, see Windows Update or see the sound device manufacturer's Web site.
  • Your sound device is not functioning properly. To troubleshoot the problem, see Windows Help and Support or refer to your sound device's documentation.
  • You do not have a sound device installed on your computer. Install a sound device, and then try to play the file again
