1. From the "Setup" page, click Advanced

2. When the "Filters" page opens, click on the Wireless tab

3. Make sure all wireless computers are setup to the router, and are currently able to access the internet. Once this is done, click on the Active MAC Table button.

4. Move the "Wireless Active MAC Table" window and click on Edit MAC Filter Settings on the main window.

5. When the "Wireless Group MAC Table" opens, go to the task bar and click on the Wireless Active MAC Table so that window appears.

6. With the two windows side by side enter the MAC Addresses from the "Wireless Active MAC Table" window into the Wireless Group MAC Table.

Note: When you enter the MAC Addresses do not include the dashes/semi-colon, and do not click "Filter"

7. Click Apply then Continue in the "Wireless Group MAC Table" window.

8. Close the "Wireless Group MAC Table" window and the "Wireless Active MAC Table" window

9. On the Main window Enable the Station MAC Filter setting.

Linksy WRT54GR Router - Invalid Wireless MAC Address [EN] [FR]

[Englisch]
Hi there,

i have been troubled with the configuration of the linksys router WRT54GR when trying to add my wireless devices to the wireless client table.

First I found following hint:
http://forums.linksys.com/linksys/board/message?board.id=Wireless_Routers&message.id=46517

then did the following which solved my problem!

I entered the MAC addresses of my wireless devices into the client table and made sure that all remaining entries where not of kind 00:00:00:00:00:00.
Apart from my valid MAC addresses (2 devices) i just had to enter 00:00:00:00:00:03, 00:00:00:00:00:04 and so on! The last entry in my table is
00:00:00:00:00:16.

That's it. Cheers

[French]

Bonjour,

Voila!

When MAC filtering on Encore enhwi n2, the message " the legal characters are 0-9, A-F or a-f" always appear when I try to add more MAC address to be allowed to access the router. What could be...

The MAC address is a 12 digit number. This number is organized into 6 pairs of Hex numbers with no spaces between each pair of Hex numbers.
A Hex number is 0 to 9 and A to F giving a range 16 possible numbers.
An example of a MAC address number is - 0000AFB9C3F9

When you configure the wireless router with MAC address filtering, the router will only allow the computers with the MAC address listed in the router to connect to this wireless router.

I want to add a laptop - wireless to my current system. I have a linksys G 3.4 GHz. I need help.

Do you know the current wireless card settings that are working on your current system.
All you need to do is to configure these SSID and encryption settings etc on the wireless card on this laptop so it will communicate with the router.
If you have enabled MAC address filtering on the Linksys then you need to add the MAC address of this laptop to the MAC address Filter table in the Linksys wireless settings.
Let me know if you need further help.

You need to do port forwarding. Call PS3 tech support to get the port numbers to opened to your Netgear Router. And follow this procedure.

Changing nat on xbox live

I had this issue, and solved it recently. Everyone on the internet will tell you to forward ports, or disable the NAT setting, but these never worked for me. As I was about to give up and buy a new router, as a last resort I decided to call tech support. In about 3 minutes they fixed my problem, and it is much easier then port forwarding.

-First go into your 360 network settings and find its mac address.
-In the router settings move to the LAN tab.
-Then go to "dhcp leases".
-Under "current dhcp leases" your 360 should be listed (match the mac address)
-Make a note of the IP address listed for the 360, then delete that lease.
-Now Reserve a new IP address, enter in the MAC address and IP address you wrote down for the 360.
-Check the bypass firewall option (and give it a name if you want) and then add the new entry.
-On the same page, move up to "DMZ Host" find your new entry and click "apply"
-Click the option to reboot your SBG900, then restart your 360, and the NAT should be open.

I hope this helps, if I described it correctly it should be much easier then port forwarding, and more importantly, it should work.

Partial internet connections

Hi,

A quick workaround is to assign static/fixed IP address to the Compaq. Just follow the numbers listed on the Dell and simply add 1 to the IP. Example if Dell PC1 uses IP Add of 192.168.1.100 and PC2 uses 192.168.1.101 both with Subnet Mask of 255.255.255.0 and Default Gateway of 192.168.1.1, then set the Compaq to 192.168.1.103, 255.255.255.0 & 192.168.1.1. Likewise, replicate the DNS Server numbers from the Dell to the Compaq.

If this does not work out for you or for some reason you prefer to have a DHCP assigned number, please post back, specific model of the Compaq, Operating System, the WiFi Networking card of the Compaq, security settings (WEP, WPA, MAC Filter) Further, please describe "partially working", what works and what doesn't.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back details as above requested or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.
