i had a problem with my modem. when I plug in my landline phone it automatic hold the phone and after 15 sec . my phone desn't give any response. when i dial the number at the time of i plug the line then only it response but at the time of connection is give long beep tone and it gives out the msg remort server don't not responsed. in this case what must i have to do . plz give help me .

We're WinFax support experts and this usually isn't a WinFax specific problem.
Make sure you have proper drivers for Win98 and your modem. Some Conexent (SOFT) modems will allow the installation of incorrect drivers, causing all dialing functions to fail. (NO DIAL TONE/NO CARRIER/ NO Incoming RING detection)
Check your modem via Hyperterminal (or another terminal program)
