1991 buick park avenue. new radio isnt wanting to power up (no power)

I recently bought a jensen vm8012 deck and removed the old factory radio. but here is the thing, none of the plugins that were connected to the radio will work with this radio and in a haste i cut the old plugs off the wires. i then found the orange hot(+) battery wire and the black ground wire. i then connected the corresponding wire on the radio (+ & -) and tried to power up the unit with ignition on and nothing happened. fuses an such are fine and i know there is power because the ground wire sparked against the ground. but for some reason nothing. but here is where it gets funny. my climate control system would not work untill i connected both the orange and yellow wires (from the car) together. so im thinking i messed up somehwere there. it wont even work with a wire going straight to the fuse box (wire wrapped around fuse and inserted back into box and my hotlight is showing the wire is active.)

There is a wire on the back of your radio that is red and it has to be hoocked up along with the yellow and the black, you have to hook that red wire up to a power source as well that is the wire that turns the radio off and on with your key.

My 1993 buick park avenue will not start but i have power. and it has the factory security system. it has and new starter and alternator... so just wondering what this could be

I would definately think its the security. Look for a light somewhere near the dash that says SECURITY. Thats a dead give away. I think on the park avenue its in the middle of the dash above the radio. Check out this site, it explains the whole SECURITY thing, why your car isnt starting, and solutions to fix it yourself for cheap.

Crank sensor, ignition module under the coils these all would be good places to check. You might want to see if there are any codes.

How do you get the stock radio deck out of a 1991 buick park avenue?

*It's a bit tricky but not difficult, if you know how the dash in the Park Avenue is put together. But before you do anything, safety first. *Disconnect the negative cable from the battery before doing any electrical work on a car. This prevents shorting out your cars electrical system.

*If you own the 90 -91 Park Avenue model, simply pull off the decorative trim away from the radio to expose the torq screws that hold the radio into the dash. You will need a torq screwdriver of the right size to remove the radio.
Available from your local autoparts store.

*If you own the 91-92 model, it's a whole different ball game. This since the dash is much more tightly compacted. It's a combination of a snap together assembly and Torq screws. The dash is held together in columns or sections.

*The torq screws on these models are hidden behind the heater vents in the upper dash. First pry the wooden trim (Which surrounds the climate control module) on the bottom of the dash off, gently but firmly until it comes free, exposing the Torq screws on the lower dash. Remove the heater vents (hiding the upper screws ) by popping them out with a straight blade screw driver. Then remove all Torq screws visible to the eye, only from the column that is holding is holding the radio in place.

*You will then be able to remove the black colored plastic off the dash to expose the radio. (Use care when removing the lower dash column as some climate control and airbag sensors might be embedded).

*Remove all Torq screws holding the radio in place, (and keep track of all screws) pull the radio out of the dash, and disconnect electrical connectors. If you'll be replacing the stock radio with a non factory radio, make sure all electrical connection watch up, since security feature in the radio are integrated into the radio. (some of these effect basic function on your vehicle like the headlights) If you will be reinstalling the stock radio, you will have to have it unlocked by the dealership. The DelcoLoc system will now think the radio is stolen, because of it's internal security features. Installation is the reverse of removal.

Hope this helps.
