Hey, my lcd on my laptop is dark. i can make out out stuff if i shine a light. been doing some reading and it sounds like the backlight or back light inverter is out . i'd like to know which it could be, where to get the part too and how to take apart this laptop' s lcd thanks out there in advance

I don't think the LCD inverter is the problem. This part only powers the light of your LCD. I think the electronics on the back of the LCD is bad. You have to replace your LCD to fix this problem. Take a look on eBay for a affordable replacement.
If what you really need is the recovery disk, you can call Toshiba for it but if you only need the drivers, you can go to support.toshiba.com or pcsupport.toshiba.com. For the graphics driver, if you know that you have intel chipsets, you can go to intel.com/support/chipsets - there please select your chipset family then click on the "download" under graphics for your specific chipset then please select your operating system. Please restart your laptop after the download and see if it works. Thank you.
