Good day!

The problem of your TV is the power supply board.

Please follow this procedure to fix that problem:

  1. Remove the back cover of your TV.
  2. After that, look for the power supply board.
  3. Next, check the input voltage of the power supply using multimeter tester (range in AC).If the power supply don't have input voltage, replace the power cord.
  4. If the power supply board have input voltage, next is check the output voltage of power supply it should have 5vdc for the system board,12vdc for the sounds and 24vdc for the back light inverter.
  5. If you don't have output voltage of the power supply. Please check the fuse if busted and the power transistor if it is shorted, replace it with the same type, ratings and value. Also look for any leak/bulged on the top capacitor.
  6. After you done this steps and you found and replace the defective parts.Plug-in your TV and power it ON to test if it is OK.

My tv cannot turn on. Even with the remote controller. What could be the problem?

Just make sure that the wall outlet you are using is actually live. Try plugging in a reading lamp to that socket to make sure it has power.

If power is good, then check where the power cord enters the back of the tv for a fuse holder.

If there is one there, then unplug the tv and replace the fuse with a new one.

Otherwise you might be looking at getting out your screwdriver and disassembling the tv to have a look at the main power supply circuit board.

I looked at the owner's manual located at the following link but they did not mention if the set had an easily accessible fuse there or not.

Good luck and keep us posted on how you are making out.

TV Wont turn on after lighting storm. I have tried to; unplug and plug back in. Unplug it for 24 hrs. Try different outlets. Look at the build, looks fine.

The TV circuitry is designed to protect from power surges. The fuse on the power supply may be blown, or the power supply itself could have taken a hit. I would try to check the fuse first and then if it turns back on... it did it's job!

Good luck! and let me know what happens!

61" samsung won't turn on???

If your television does not turn on, try the following:

1. Check the power cord for breaks, tears, or exposed wires .
2. Check to be sure that the power cable is fully inserted in the outlet and that the outlet is working.
3. Go to your fuse box or circuit breaker box and check the fuse or circuit breaker of the circuit your TV is plugged into. Replace the fuse or reset the breaker if necessary.
4. Replace the batteries in the remote control, and then try turning on the TV using the remote.
5. Unplug the TV, wait five minutes, plug the TV back in, and then try turning on the TV.

If the recommendations above do not resolve your problem, most likely the power supply in your TV has failed and your television needs service. To begin the service process.

Vizio has no power want to check fuse

remove back, only exposed board there is PS, look where blue/brown AC wire plugs into it, fuse (F1) is there (5amp-250v)
if fuse is good and you get no power or front light replace that board, or start component level troubleshooting (usually regulator trans or SM fuses (000)

Mitsubishi ws-48613 no power

It seems problem of weak capacitors in power supply and deflection board.
If you have little experience of TV repair and good soldering skills, then check above said boards for weak capacitors.
You also need to have service manual of WS48613 which can be obtained from Manual Zone.
Service manual has schematics and technical information of TV to help in repair.

TV will not work

Hello dnjmartz,

Your friend is correct there is a fuse in your televisions's power supply. Now I do not however suggest that you open the TV set and try to find it, because it's not like the old days where the fuse was located in or around about the same area in most TVs . The fuse in this case might be towards the middle of the set or on the power supply board in any location so finding the fuse will be the biggest chore. However here are some simple instructions of how you might be able to find the fuse.

1. unplug the TV
2 take the back off of the tv
3. using a flashlight look for a component that looks like two round metallic cylinders separated by a glass cylinder.
4. remove the fuse from the fuse holder
5. visually inspect the fuse for internal burning (black soot)
6. if possible test the fuse with an ohmmeter should read 0 ohms
7. Replace the fuse with one of the same voltage and current rating (check for replacement fuses at radio shack or some place like that)
8. After the fuse is replaced try to turn on the TV before putting the back on "BE VERY CAREFUL DANGEROUS VOLTAGES ARE PRESENT"
9. If the TV comes on you are read to turn the TV off and put the back of the TV back on.
10 If the TV does not come back on you will have to get the set looked at by a qualified TV technician since if the TV does not come on it may be the result of a power supply malfunction.

I hope this helps,

Thank you,

No power on RCA p60921

Replace the Power Supply switching transistor, If a CTC195 chassis it is the Q14101. Cost about $8.00 for part if you can do it.
