Alright, go to the website and download a fresh copy, your license info from the old copy should allow you to use the new copy.

Make sure its updated also.

Clear out your temp folders in case there is any spam tripping the AVG.

I have had the Free version of AVG and have never had any problems. And spam usually hides in the Temp internet folders so clear them out.
Good luck.

Antivirus are not install

ther are many free antivirus programs on the internet avg is one if you choose to use avg
when you download avg free the licence will be attached to it you must copy and paste it into a word/word pad then save it into my documents
at some stage avg free will ask you for a key
i have had this problem myself and I have heard of other people which had the same thing happen to them rather than download it again and do do the same then copy and paste it back in

Just copy and paste this into your search engine/browser

If you can still access the Internet, go to Trendnet.com and run their Housecall program.

It is free and extremely thorough. It may take several hours especially if on a slow computer.

When you can run Housecall and not find any more malware, try the free AVG anti-virus. I use it and it seems to work well for me.

I also use the free Zonealarm firewall.

check under tools>manage add-ons. any add-ons that don't have a supplier name, or that you don't require should be disabled. also, delete any cookies and temporary internet files. ensure you have a good anti-spyware system, and using AVG go to the "warnings" tab of scan results and click on "remove all unhealed infections"

good luck
