Our house is supposed to be wireless net work, but there is no connection in any part of the house, except of one room. Please let me know what is going wrong and what should I do? May be the set up is not right?

Are you having problems with the DNS as I had this problem with windows 8. I could ping the wireless router but I could not get the DNS name to resolve tracert in dos prompt will confirm if the dns name is resolving..
try pinging the default gateway ip address in dos prompt
ipconfig will tell you what this ip address is and will confirm if the wireless is working .

It seems you are having issues with the router. As you've said your PC can detect other wireless networks except for wireless network that you're supposed to connect into. Try contacting the technical support team of the manufacturer of your router so that they can check it out, it might be a defective router.

I went to the Hughes web site to check out the modem. They say it is also a router. I think you will have to disable the router abilities of your WNDR 3300 Net Gear Router.
Get into the Netgear setup by loging on to it.In its WAN setup select Static IP Address and set the Static IP Address to the same as the hughes modem, except for the last number which should be about 50 greater. IE: Hughes 192.168.12.1 and Netgear 192.168.12.55.
In the DHCP setup, disable the DHCP Server
In the Wireless setup, Give your network a name is SSID. You should also set up security to keep others off you internet connection with a WEP key.
Connect the lan cable from the dsl modem into the first port on your netgear router .. make sure your dsl modem is on PPPoE mode so that it autoconnects.. Now just connect to your wireless router via your pc interface.. *Do add a network key to your wireless network to avoid unwanted access
First of all power off the net gear wireless adapter and than try to install the rangemax. if it dosen't work than please check the dhcp range in both the wireless router are the of the same range. than kindly the change the range of dhcp of this new rangemax wireless adapter. you can change this dhcp range my connecting the router to your computer and login by default ip . e.g http://192.168.1.1 and login with userid "admin" and password "admin" than go to lan management option and try the same.
