Hard Truck 2 King of the Road (which is a very old game) crashes constantly on my Vista Desktop but works perfectly fine on my friends Windows 7 Laptop. Is there any ideas as to how I can fix these crashes or what might be causing it to crash whenever I do certain things?

The only "problem" is Acid finding SampleTank 2 when I try to open projects created on xp / win7. Because it's 32bit it installed in (x86). The file path seems to be the issue (since "x86" is not in the file path on xp/7) but other IK apps open fine with xp/7 files and SampleTank 2 opens fine in new projects. if file path consistency is to be maintained a 64bit version is needed...?
Older games(like those that require 256mb) were made to work on lower resolution video cards, they can't upscale to higher resolution. This is like taking a photo with an old camera and trying to make it bigger, it gets blurred. The problem with crashing is most likely caused by the game being made for an older operating system like XP/98 rather than windows vista, 7, or 8.
I think the solution for this might be using a Virtual Desktop Program which is a program that mimics an older computer so you can run older programs. Some of these are free or free trials. This youtube video might help.
If it worked on Windows 7, it will definitely work with Windows Vista The only thing you need to check is if its Vista 32-bit or 64-bit - the latter is known to be not compatible with a lot of software.
had the same problem as you, right-click on "king.exe", properties,
"compatibility" (hope it's called so even in english, have german vista
^^), set compatibility-mode on XP SP2, checkbock "resolution 640x480",
"deactivate visual designs" and that thing with the DPI (don't know how
to translate xD).
It worked on my vista, hope it'll do it at yours too =)
