2003 Ford F350 Super Duty DRW SuperCab Logo
Anonymous Posted on Jun 12, 2010

I changed the batteries on my F350. This set the alarm off on the truck. I cannot get it to turn off. I finally had to cut the wires to the siren. The lights still flash for a minute or longer everytime you open the door or start the truck. How can I shut the alarm off?

    Cobra 777,
I did not give all of the info on this problem. That is my fault. I do not have the remote key fob and as far as I know it is a factory installed alarm. Any other suggestions?

If it is a Ford Factory Alarm it should have key FOBS (remotes). Just press the unlock button 2 times and that should stop it. Alarm systems no matter what brand always have remotes. If you have remotes pressing the unlock should disarm the system 99 times out of 100. If that doesn't work then either the battery in the remote is dead, or the remote is broken. Hope this helps. Cobra :-)

Ford e150 alarm siren goes off when lights are turned on

try disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes so the electrical system reboots itself with a clean start. That might fix it. IU would give it 10 to 15 minutes disconnected before reconnecting and trying it. Further to that i would say take it to the dealer and send the bill to the place that did your oil change

I WANT TO FIX PRESTIGE CAR ALARM IN THE CAR' AND HOW TO CONECT THE WIRES

Below is a fast installation guide for most car alarm systems. Refer to your manual were needed. Car alarms can be hard to set up and include bands of wiring and sensing elements to instal. Take it step by step and taking after the operating instructions cautiously.

Steps to installing a car alarm system.
1. Mount the siren to a solid surface under the hood. Make sure that you point the horn of the siren toward the ground so that moisture won't affect the sound or horn.
2. Drill a hole through a rubber grommet in the firewall of the car and feed the sirens wire through the hole into the passenger compartment of the car.
3. Feed the power wire through the same hole on the passenger side. Make sure there is enough slack to reach the car's battery. 4. Connect the alarm's power wire to the battery.
5. Put a fuse on the power wire next to the battery.
6. Mount the shock sensor as described in the car alarm's manual.
7. Drill holes in the dash were you will want to place the LED status indicator. Feed the LED's wire through the hole and place the double-sided mounting tape to the back of the LED and place it over the hole in the dash.
8. Find the wires that work the car's power door locks.
9. Connect the door-lock relay to the lock/unlock wires and connect the alarm wire to the relay in the manner described by the tech advisor. 10. Locate the wire that works the courtesy light if the alarm has current sensing.
11. Connect the current sensing line from the alarm to the courtesy light wire.
12. Locate the factory door trigger if the alarm does not have current or voltage sensing.
13. Connect the factory door trigger to the alarm.
14. Locate the starter wire on the steering column below the starter switch. Cut the line and connect the starter disable relay. Connect the starter disable wire from the alarm to the relay.
15. Mount the valet switch somewhere under the dash.
16. Connect all the wires to the proper inputs and outputs of the alarm.
17. Find a sturdy surface under the dash and mount the module under the dash.
18. Use tie wraps to secure the wires of the harness and mount it under the dash.
19. Arm the alarm and test. Adjust the sensitivity as needed.

How to turn off the alarm,, Changed the battery now the alarm will not go off on my 2001 XG300.

Do you still have your Key Fob? The siren is impossible to turn off without the Key Fob.
Can you start the car? If working properly, the siren will be accompanied by all the marker lights flashing and the car's ignition being disabled.
If you can still start your car, you may have to disable your siren. NOT A GOOD IDEA!
When the battery was installed, did the fuse on the positive side get damaged? Did any wires get pinched or otherwise shorted against the positive terminal or leads? Check all over that area to make sure all is well.
If you absolutely have to, you can pull the siren relay IF it doesn't disable your ignition too. AGAIN! I DON'T BELIEVE THIS IS A GOOD IDEA, but needs must as the devil drives.
If you disconnect it, get it into the shop as soon as you can. You don't want to be without your anti-theft system for long.
I wish you the best!

Siren goes off sporatically. We had to unhook the car battery to make it stop last night. The fuse is ok.

to stop at night you must cut the earth cable from siren, after that take the car at service to cek the wire and the contacts of alarm.
