Keeps asking for a format disk when i put in a burnt disks

first off, try a real store bought, CDDA, disk
not mp3, or other burnt disks.
old cars only play CCDA, and not much else.
try to be more clear
that are vast numbers of round disks.
CDDA.
CDR burnt to CDDA format
CDR bunt to MP3 or like 10 other formats all hopeless.
DVDR burnt to MP3, ditto....
see?
the owner guide, also tells you what it plays be that OEM original or aftermarket upgrades.
why not post a photo of the head end,
if still original it has a 3 letter jeep code there. on the face.

the disk has to be formatted before info can be written to it. click yes and you should get a box asking the type of format. since you didnt say what operating system you have i will assume you have XP or newer. choose NTFS and quick format

If you have a win xp disk you need to put it in the drive then reboot the computer. It will say press any key to boot from cd. Once you boot to the cd it will walk you step by step on installing win xp. Be careful when it comes to the part that asks to format disk because you will lose all data. Make sure you have everything you want to keep backed up on another drive or disks before you reformat.

Put your blank disk in the drive. When you select the drive in my computer it will ask if you want to format the disk, choose yes. After complete you can just simply select the pictures you want and copy and paste them to the cd/dvd disk.

this could be a help to you,first off most,cds, and memory disk,get scratched or worn out,that causes errors or corrupt file readings. so thats why it asked you to format,formating helps clean the drive up,like a tune up on and old car.and if you dont and try to put high grade gas in before the tune up your still going to have the same problem,so in saying you have to put the old one back in,format it. and then put the new one in after you completed formating the old one.good luck,hope that helped you.

two things. Firsly make sure that you are using the correct disks i.e if your drive is dvd-r then only use dvd-r disks, if its dvd+r then only use dvd+r disks if it is a multi drive then it won't matter what disks you use. Secondly don't format the disk first. If it asks you to format the disk click on the X to shut the pop up box. Only put the disk in when dvd maker asks for you to insert a disk.

use cdr's and allow multisession in your settings. Get rid of roxio and use nero 7.5 or above. Roxio tries to format cd-rws all the time if you have all features installed. bakup program keeps wanting to format cdrw. so use cdr's instead..Use the data disk option. That will copy your pics fine.

Some PS2's have a problem with reading certain Blue disks. You have two options:
1. I believe that you can send it back to Sony to repair (they will make you pay for the shipping)
or
2. If the disc is just for install, you can put a little piece of tape on the inner ring(the tape will touch the top and bottom of the inner plastic ring) and it should read the disc.

I had this problem also years ago. The most steadfast way would be to send it back to be fixed.

Sounds like you have a bad floppy drive. If you are unable to read a disk and it wants to format it so it can read it try letting it format a floppy with no data on it or with floppy you don't care about. If it can format and you can read and write to it, then bad disks. If not then you know you have a bad floppy drive. Replace and enjoy.
