HOW TO LOCK ASUS X54C KEYBOARD

I would remove the ribbon cable from motherboard end i.e. Keyboards ribbon cable connector. then put back the Keyboard, meaning it's totally disabled (Not sure if Laptop will boot properly) UNLESS it's possible to do it via Device Manager and OR the Bios.
I'll try it for myself later.

Good Luck

How do you switch back and forth between computers on the KVM-02

try [scroll lock] [scroll lock] [UP].
To fast clicks on scroll lock and then the up or down key on the directionkeys on the right side of your keyboard.

If you have a wireless keyboard attached that can prove to be a problem to.

The keys: 9 / O / L / . are not functioning. all surrounding keys work for except these 4 keys is there something locked or is there a function key i can press to make them work?

These keys share a scan line in the keyboard. There is a break in the scan line or a bad connection between the keyboard panel and the controller circuit board inside the keyboard (or the motherboard in a laptop computer). Most keyboards use a pair of flexible plastic sheets with the scan lines printed in silver ink. These are attached to the controller with a "flexible printed circuit" connector. Sometimes the material tarnishes where it makes its connections there and the keyboard fails as you have described.

Most of these connectors have a friction lock that is disengaged by sliding it about 1 mm along the length of the flat ribbon cable going into the connector (there is a stop at this point - do not force the lock past it). The lock looks like a frame around the top of the connector box and has a slot for the cable. Once the lock is disengaged, the cable will slide out. Now you can clean the contacts on the cable (both sides) by polishing them with a white pencil eraser. When that is done, seat the cable back in the connector and push the lock back in until it makes a soft click or bottoms out on the connector shell. Once in a while there will be a connector that is friction fit - there will be no lock, but the cable will have a stiff reinforcing sheet attached to it. Very rarely, the lock will be a flip-up tab on the side of the connector - these are usually used only on smaller, narrower ribbons.

Avoid touching the circuitry on the controller board - it is easily damaged by static electricity.

If this doesn't work, you'll probably have to replace the keyboard.

My key board with Dell Latitude laptop key board is not working. I purchased MK 250 wireless key board and conneted to TV for display The functional key for selecting the monitor is not there on the new...

The keyboard has a feature (and associated button) called F-Lock. By default, when the computer boots, F-Lock is turned on. In the F-Lock mode, rather than sending the standard key commands for the function keys, the keyboard sends special alternate commands (like print for F7 and save for F8) that are configured in the iTouch program. In order to force the keyboard to send the standard function key commands, you must TURN OFF F-Lock by pressing the F-Lock button! Oh, and by the way, there are no indicator lights on the keyboard, and the F-Lock button is an always up momentary button - just like the keys on the keyboard, so there is no way to tell what state it is in, other than by pressing it and then pressing an F key to see what happens!

This should solve your problem. Just turn off the F-Lock Mode.
Hope this helps if it does please leave a comment or a vote.
Thanks JHH

THE WINOWS STARTUP SHOWS ON SCREEN ON/OFF BUTTON IS BLUE

Is your keyboard also wireless? Check batteries on all wireless devices. If batteries are fine, restart your computer (hold down your power button until your computer shuts down unless you have a reset button) and then try unplugging and plugging back in your wireless receiver, then hit your connect buttons starting with your keyboard followed by your mouse.

Meaning of indicator lights on wireless receiver

I concur 2/3's with yooperbud.

1 = System is connected and working
A = Cap locks On= Cap lock is on. Off = Cap lock is off.
F = Function Key usage. On = I'm going to use the alternative fuctions of the F keys as programmed in the Keyboard settings. Off = Your using the standard features of the F keys.

Logitech LX310 keyboard / mouse (wireless)

Firstly, try changing the batteries in the keyboard.

If still has issues, try moving the receiver to another area. Try to remove from other sources of interference such as Monitors, Speakers and Power Supplies.

If this doesn't work, try using a non-wireless mouse, and see if the keyboard still has issues.

If all this fails, then I would consider replacment.

F keys don't work on a micrpsoft keyboard 1000 wireless

Many of the wireless keyboards and Natural Keyboards from Microsoft have the F-Lock key.

Here is a description of what the F-Lock does from a 3rd party website (http://www.mvps.org/jtsang/flock.html)

F Lock Key

The F Lock key on the Microsoft Keyboards is a relatively new concept facility for Microsoft Keyboards. Introduced with the Office Keyboard and used in later keyboards, it essentially allows keys to do more than one operation. The F Lock key, depending on its state, will allow either a function key's "normal" operation or a new "enhanced" operation. The initial state of the F Lock key is "off", and in this state, the function keys use their "enhanced" operation.

The F Lock key is a hardware switch in the keyboard. Its state cannot be controlled programatically. Its default condition is "off". As a result, whenever the keyboard is reset, or loses power, the F Lock key will always be in an "off" state.

For some, this is not a desirable default; some people want "normal" function key operation.
