XP Professional tends to have problems with all devices when you are connected to a network. Disconnect your Sansa player from computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button and reconnect to the computer. Continue holding the volume + button until the "Found New Hardware" Wizard pops up - XP will load the needed drivers.

Looks it's for Windows XP; if you have Vista or over, try to install driver with Windows XP compatibility mode

How to link gpx mp3 player to pc?

1. Connect your ML648B to your computer with Windows XP or later.2. By default your computer will recognize ML648B as GPX MTP Device. (Wait for few seconds to a minute allowing your Windows computer to recognize and install necessary drivers for the device for first time as MTP Device.)
3. Press the POWER button from top of your ML648B, to change it to USB mode connection. You will also see USB on the screen of ML648B.(Wait for few seconds to a minute allowing your Windows computer to recognize and install necessary drivers for the device for first time as USB device.)
4. ML648B will now mount 2 drives, one as Tools (as CD-Drive) and second as Removable Disk (Drive) – under My Computer on your windows desktop.
5. Double click & open Tools, and run Setup.exe to start installing Video Conversion Software tool.
6. Select defaults options and finish the installation by clicking on Close or Finish.
7. If asked, click on Continue Anyway on Windows XP or Install this driver software anyway on windows vista.
This will help.Good Luck.

Windows xp does not recognize my ematic 8 pro series tablet. Do i need drivers?

Hello

What version of Windows XP are you running? Your best bet is to have Windows XP Service Pack 3.

The issue is that the tablet will appear in Windows as a "storage device". The problem is that Windows XP will likely require a driver to understand that your tablet is a memory storage device.

It appears you have two options:

1. upgrade to Windows XP Service Pack 3, reboot the computer and then connect the tablet and see if the OS can recognize your device

2. remove the SD memory card from the tablet and, using a SD card reader on your PC (which you may need to purchase), insert the SD card into the card reader and use this method to transfer the files to the card. Return the card to your tablet.

It appears that Windows Vista, 7 and 8 will recognize your tablet automatically.

The problem is after service pack 3, xp pro does not recognize MTP devices any longer

  • Click on the Start button and Select Settings. Then click on Control Panel.
  • Double click System, and then select the Hardware tab.
  • Click on Device manager.
  • Click on the '+' for Portable device and you will see "Insignia Video Player".
  • Right click and select "Update driver".
  • A Hardware Update Window will open, Check the "Install from a list or specific location" checkbox and then click next.
  • On the next screen select "Don't Search. I will choose the driver to install".
  • Click next and then you will see a window showing multiple drivers, Select the "Portable Devices" driver and you can select MTP or USB mass storage.
  • Select "USB Mass Storage Device" and click next.
  • XP will finish installing the driver and you MP3/video player will appear and your device will now appear as a hard drive(s) (if you have a memory card) on your system.
  • Windows Media Player and other application will now recognize your device.

Windows xp wont recognize usb connection from rave. Is there a driver I need?

If you're using the retractable usb cable that came with the player, replace it. I had the same problem. XP recognized that there was a device, but couldn't open it. I was getting a "Driver not installed" error in device manager.

Windows XP is plug and play, so it doesnt require any drivers on Coby's end. You need to do Windows Update to update your drive package, it seems you are missing the USB MASS STORAGE device driver.

System not recognizing mp3

I had a very similar problem with a USB camcroder, drove me crazy! This sounds like a USB device not being recognized, this issue is rather uncommon with XP, it's not the player or device, unless the device is not working proplerly. 9 out of 10 times it's system device manager.

(Solution)
With the device plugged into the USB go to control panel and click on system and navigate to your device manager hardware>device manager, scroll down to Universal Serial Bus Controllers, there should be either an X or an exclamation mark indicating the device/driver is not loaded properly, right click on that line and chose uninstall driver, reboot then plug the device in, if it asks for a driver then put in the CD and let the driver install it. If this still does not work, then repeat the above but instead of choosing uninstall when you right click choose "update driver" and when it asks for a location to the driver, point it to the driver on the CD.

Hope this helps
