Have a CLP-300n, 5 months old, black doesn't seem to distributing evenly resulting in vertical lines. Particularly noticable with black background. Have checked waste and also thoroughly cleaned. Not high volume useage. Read in the user manual that there is a self cleaning mode but can't seem to find? John

Thanks for this, I am over the 2000 and have replaced the cartridges, have even emptied the waste container. When I cleaned it out there was quite a lot of toner within the case of the machine. Wonder if this may be the problem?

Hi,

To my knowledge a Samsung CLP-300N can print a maximum of 2,000 pages or even less depending on the usage of the black cartridge. Have you printed nearly that much, if yes perhaps the cartridge is nearly running out.

If not and the printer was seldom used, then it may be that the toner powder has caked up and therefore would require a bit of shaking (of the cartridge) to loosen them up.

If neither of the above is applicable and considering as you posted the printer is only 5 months old, your best bet might be to get in touch with Samsung and ask for replacement or at least repair.
Call 1-800-SAMSUNG, go to the tech help for printers and relay your concern. They should repair or replace it free of charge. Pls have the receipt/proof of purchase handy.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.

When you say vertical lines, i'm thinking you talkin up and down since this is not a tv. but if the lines are left to right, its because its printing to thick. see if this helps you.

You have to call the service, because developer is broken. The Toner cartridge is ok. Don't buy another one. The service tecnician updates the Firmware and replace the black developer.

I suspect the problem is common. The Imaging unit requires a Black developer to be replaced. you may approach samsung service center for this.
