Question about Sony KV-32S26 32" TV

1 Answer

Sony triniton 37 inch flat screen ( five years old)

The problem I'm having is the set-up screen keeps popping up at about
10 second intervals. I have tried unpugging the tv, pressing the menu button on the remote, and the display button. This only shuts it off for a few seconds. I had this same problem about two years ago but it stopped
doing it after a day. Can anyone help with this problem? I would appreciate any advice.

First make the set have a hard reset. To do this, unplug the power cord for at least 4 hours to 6 hours (over night), and then try using the set. You will have to re-do the user setup. This will reset the internal programming and restore it to factory user defaults settings. Unplugging for a shorter period of time may not do the trick.

If the hard reset does not fix the problem it probably has a defective eeprom or a bad voltage regulator that feeds the controller IC-EEPROM IC's. In which case you will need a tv tech to dignose the exact fault condition and determine the failed parts. (There are about 120+ parts associated with these functions).

This can be a number of hours of work to troubleshoot. Then there will be the cost of the parts, if they are still available for this model. If the main IC/EEPROM has to changed, the complete factory alignments will have to be done.

I have a Sony 20" triniton and no remote where is

you need to go into on screen menus and scroll to the video settings and adjust there

if there is no button for menu on front then you should write sony for a replacement remote as most aftermarket replacement remotes dont do the setting functions you are looking for

good luck - hope this helped you

Hi I have a Sony Bravia KLV-40S200A which wont turn on. The standby button flashes five times then pauses for about 4 seconds then flashes again. Any ideas?

I had a similar problem with my 42 Inch Philips 42PLF5432D/37 LCD HD TV. It would turn on but then shut back off after about 10 seconds. Then it wouldn't turn on at all. The problem was a bad capacitor. Several bad capacitors. They are inexpensive and fairly easy to replace if you don't mind digging around in the back of your set and soldering some new ones on your Power Supply Board. Or take the less inexpensive route and look for a whole new Power Supply Board. Good luck. Hope this helps.

Stuck on menu screen

Try connecting the TV directly to a different wall outlet and check. Try resetting the TV to the factory settings. If the issue persists, try power resetting the TV. Turn Off the TV and remove the power plug from the wall outlet for 1 minute and reconnect it and check the operation. If the issue persists, then the TV requires service.

THE MENU KEEPS POPPING UP ON THE SCREEN CONTINOUSLY ON MY 42 INCH

I had an LG 37" LCD that did this to me. Turned out to be bad solder joints on the side button board. Just reflowed and it starting working fine.

But now that I think about, I had another set do the same thing, only it wasn't the button board. I had to upgrade the TV's firmware via the USB service port. Just needed a USB flash drive and downloaded the firmware from the mfg's website. There were easy to follow instructions there too!
