It's broken. Google "iPod repairs" in your country and they might be able to replace it. Otherwise you can get an exchange unit from Apple. Take it to your nearest Authorised Apple Service Centre and they will get it exchanged in a couple of days. Unfortunately this might cost almost as much as a new one.
Because if you charge the battery too often you might be getting something which is called a "fat battery" which if what happens as well if you charge a cell phone too often, it could also be that the cable that plugs into your computer to charge it could be dusty inside...
My friend has the same problem, and same with my brothers ipod nano. My friend took it to the Apple Store, and they said it was do to overheating, caused by leaving it on the charger to long. They could not fix her ipod, but have you left it on the charger?
I think your ipod is dead. This happened to me to. I was listening to it when I arrived at my destination, and I thought I turned it off and I put it in my pocket. Later that day when I went to listen to it, it wouldn't turn on at all. Aparently, it had stayed on. Hold the pause button for five to ten seconds. The apple symbol will appear on your ipod. Immeadility put it in your docking station before it goes away. Your ipod will turn on, and itwill start charging.
I do NOT want to Pay for a solution ONLINE.....because after 12 hours of work on it, and internet feedback, I am SURE it is a Hardware GLITCH.....It has happened to others......so I am Not sure ,,,,but probably will have to take to China's 1st apple store
Let me Know if HARDWARE or Other Glitch.....CHARGED remains when I turn it Off until VERY LOW Battery + Kills it
Ask her if she tried to plug it into an iPod dock, such as an iSOUND or an Ihome. that is what ruined my sandisk e260, it won't hold more than an hour of a charge, if this is true then you will need to take it to the store and ask them if they are able to replace it.
