Camera keeps saying to push the reset button

The camera keeps saying to push the reset button, it doesn't do anything once I do. It appears to reset itself but then goes right back to the same thing? What can I do to get it out of this?

SOURCE: NEED HELP

G'day,

I also have the same problem and after almost buying a replacement I thought I would try one time to get it to go.

What I did was start the cam without a tape in it, let it bring up the little red icon indicating no tape inserted, (it hadn't started flashing "PLEASE RE-OPERATE AFTER PUSHING RESET BUTTON" at this stage) then I inserted my tape. Hey presto, it works although for how long I don't know. I'll immediately start burn my tapes to disc while the going is good.

Hope this helps someone

SOURCE: push the reset switch

The means that the powerup self test is not completing successfully. If there is no error indication in the viewfinder, this unit will need to see a Panasonic servicer for repair.

Welcome to Fixya
Did you accidentally dropped the camera? You should be able to see options when you plug in the camera to your computer. Try to reset the camera first to factory state as part of our initial troubleshooting.See procedure below:
Select reset settings icon Press set button Reset setting screen should appear then press YES Press the SET button Camera setting should be reset then test the issue again
Thank you for using Fixya!

I would start by looking at all of the push buttons on the camera. One may be stuck down.

My camera won't turn on

Hey GClooney,
Most cameras come with a 1 year manufacturers warranty so the first camera is most likely covered by this and I would have it looked at by an authorized service technician. If you dropped you Polaroid a300 camera then there is most likely internal damage and that should also be addressed by an authorized service technician. I will say that digital camera repairs often exceed the value of the camera, but the first camera repair would most likely be covered by its warranty. I hope this helps!

Sincerely,
Allan
