Hello, my name is Nathan. I was trying to charge my zune. When you charge your zune, there is a little lightning bolt icon in the battery icon.
When I plugged it into my computer, the lightning bolt icon isn't there and
apparently it's not charging it. What's wrong with my zune and can I fix the problem?

Here's a possibility, I just plugged in my Kindle Paperwhite using the Kindle charger and USB cable. It wouldn't charge.
I kept it plugged in all afternoon and it accepted no charge although it showed the little lightning bolt on the icon suggesting it was charging.
I unplugged the charger (it has two prongs) and reversed it so
the logo was on top and, Lo and Behold it charged. It could be the plug is not omniidirectional (i.e. it is polarized)
Plug in the printer power cord into electricity to charge the battery. The battery might need charging if the On light flashes green it indicates that the battery is charging.
Switch ON the printer, the battery charging icon (lightning bolt icon) flashes above the battery icon on the printer screen to indicate that the battery is charging.
If the battery is charged and the printer does not turn on with the battery power, unplug the printer power cord, if it is plugged in. Open the battery compartment and remove the battery. Wait for about 10 seconds, and then reinstall the battery.
An empty battery should fully charge in approximately four hours when the printer is not in use. If the battery still does not charge in 4 hours, you should replace it
1. Press either the Date Book or Address Book button to see if you can turn on your handheld that way. 2. Perform a soft reset: Use the tip of an unfolded paper clip (or similar object without a sharp tip) to gently press the reset button inside the hole on the back panel of your handheld. 3. Make sure the power adapter is plugged securely into a working electric outlet and is firmly connected to the handheld. (If no outlet is available, your handheld can also be charged through the USB cable, but this takes much longer.) Note: Your handheld does not have an indicator light to indicate that your handheld is being charged. 4. Charge for another three full hours. 5. If your handheld now turns on, check the charging-battery icon to ensure that your handheld is being charged. Example: a. Connect the handheld to an outlet and turn it on. b. Tap Home . c. Look for the lightning bolt on the battery icon at the top of the screen. d. If you do not see the lightning bolt, repeat steps 3 and 4.

Horizontal lightning blot = OK = the battery is already fully charged
Vertical lightning blot = enough power for charging not getting to player - your USB port may be less than 2.0, or may be malfunctioning for some reason - try a different uSB port first - if still the same result, go into the Device Manager and make sure there is not a yellow exclamation mark by the USB port.
Use the wall charger if it will no longer charge via USB.
