Hi, I'm using a logitech usb desktop microphone and it is not picking up any sound. What are some likely solutions to my problem? I'm running windows Vista 64-bit.

Did you check whether the plug is in the right port and it is not set to mute in the volume panel anywhere, and also the driver is installed and working properly, no exclaimation mark in USB devices?

Sometimes you have to install the drivers and software before you plug the microphone in and sometimes it is the other way around.

Microphone works when tested in Windows XP but stops working

Sounds like the game has it's own i/o (input/output) settings. Go to preferences or settings in the game menu (may be under options) and select your input as this mic and not the internal microphone that it has probably defaulted to. Make sure you have your mic plugged in before you start up the game though.
