First, you need to find out what is causing the shutdown problem.

Most likely since you have this laptop for 3years now and (i am assuming you havent had this serviced). You might be suffering from overheat problems since you are using a DESKTOP P4 cpu.

Try to dismantle your laptop and remove the Fan and Heat sink. CLEAN them and put new thermal paste to the cpu.

Do that and see if this fixes the problem. If not, let me know again

If i was able to help please rate this solution as a fixya!

thanks

(suffering from overheat problems)
Thanks, I have been facing the same unexpected shutdown, due to over heating and I tried dismantling my laptop, but I am not able to dismantle it completely to reach the fan and heat sink to clean it, cud you pls guide me how to? or if you can assist me with the satellite A75-S231 assembly design. Where do I find this thermal paste and how and where to apply it.

Pls help, I like this laptop a lot and I do not wish to sell it that too for a price equivalent to peanuts which I was offered(some of the service guys not being able to find ou the problem advised me to sell it saying it was too old not worth using)

My Pryon with Windows 7 occasionally unexpectedly shuts down even though there was no power surge. It reboots alright. What should I do?

I didn't know what a pryon was til I looked it up. Is it a desktop? If so you might have to clean out the inside. Blow out the heat sinks and the power supply( both directions) and any dusty looking areas. If it's a laptop you could try and make sure you aren't covering any of the cooling ports when using it. Like sitting in bed with it on the blankets.

Samsung Laptop Shuts Down Unexpectedly

It may be overheating. Try using a vacuum cleaner hose on the air vents, that will help to clear the ventilation for the radiator.

Lenovo unexpected shut down

I suggest you return it to the supplier for an exchange or repair or refund as it would be still under warranty.
If you try to fix it yourself you will void your warranty.

Asus u52 shut down unexpectedly

When the CPU overheats then it will shut down (i.e. thermaloverload) and won't boot up again until it has cooled down. If this is theproblem is not fixed then the CPU will eventually fail.
A faulty fan causes the problem or the fan and heat sink assembly are cloggedwith dust.
Check the CPU fan to see if it spins freely, if not replace the fan.
If the fan and heat sink is clogged with dust the remove the dust and make surethe vents are clear and dust free. Use a small brush and can of compressed airto do this.

Hi!

It is not yet the end for your machine. The error codes refers to a faulty hard drive. You'll need a new hard drive for replacement and that will fix the problem.

Should you have any other questions just leave a message.

All the best!

I bought HP Pavilion dv5 6 months ago and fan not working

Your cooling fan sounds to have went out, causing it to overheat and shut down.It also could be something in the fan stopping it from turning.Try cleaning it or blowing it out with it off.But it mostly sounds to have went out.

8320 shuts down in the middle of calls or rather does a restart as if you press alt shift delete keys. Only happens when talking on the phone. Happened maybe once a month for the first few months and...

Once the BB 8320 shuts down in the middle of calls, more likely it's the battery. There were times that you would see that the battery is fully charged, but once the call comes in, the battery is starting to discharge quickly and unexpectedly.

And after it dies, it would try to re-gain a small amount of power. But you need to isolate the problem, try using different battery to test it. Some repair shops let customers use their spare batteries for testing purposes.

Or contact Blackberry manufacturer for second opinion.

Have a great day!

Shuts down unexpected,

Sounds like an overheating issue, I would suggest using a cooling pad.

325aed8.jpg It's a simple device, you just rest your laptop on it and the fans do the work.

Sometime they overheat when working in a confined space, make sure you have ample room aroung the laptop for ventialtion.

Hope this helps
