Question about Toshiba 57H81 57" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

Television requies a new signal board.

The television is a 2003 model. Up until last week it worked fine; great picture and sound. At the beginning the picture was scrambled (diagonal lines on a forty-five degree angle to the left. After the television warmed up, the picture got better but not to where it should be. When I took the cover off the back, the black ground wire attaching to the coax junction box was loose. When I moved the wire the vertical lines dissappeared and horizontal lines appeared about three quarters of the way up the screen from the bottom. Anyways I took the TV to the store where I bought it to have it scoped. The result was that I need a "signal board replaced" part number 23546746. When the store tried to order the part, Toshiba said that the part was obsolete. Know I'm surfing the net trying to find that part so far with no luck. If I cannot find the part, I do not think I'll ever recommend Toshiba to anyone. It is sad to pay $5800.00 for a TV that doesn't even last five years and that you can't even get parts to fix it. If their is anything that you can recommend or a place to buy the part I would very greatful.

I have the model D52W19. I have two TVs in the house one works fine and this RCA model is a problem. The set usually turns on OK, then it begins to snap and pop. The screen will go black for either a few...

the small signal board would be suspect on that model. Depending on the bar code number which is on the small signal boards sticker you may find a replacement board at for your model.

Hi there! TV sound is fine but there is no picture. Signal is fine. No blue screen even!

It would greatly help us to answer this question more accurately, if we new which model your Television is.

Obviously it would be cheaper than replacing or repairing every possibility that people may start blurting out.

Philips LCD TV "47, model PFL 8404H/12, NO SIGNAL on all 4 HDMI

This is quite tricky as it was working until last night and suddenly stopped receiving signals. What can happen wrong?
Do you have any other Player or other HDMI cables to try out. Sometimes the cables would be damaged or PC may fail to detect the HDMI.

Try this out from Philips helpdesk where there is new SW and FAQs are available.

Let me know if you are not able to upgrade the FW (if you do not get the support on ugprading)

Problem after replacing convergence board

Yes, you do need to set up the convergence in order to get the picture geometry correct. the antenna and maybe some other settings will need to be restored through the appropriate user interface screens. You will need your owners manual for a guide.

Your problem most likely is on the signal board is my guess. If your not a technician it would be in your best interest to have him check L2C60 on the signal board.
