It's not the outlet, because the rewinder works in the other outlets I tried.

  • mommom31 Apr 12, 2008

There's no power light or response of any type from the machine.

I took it to Radio Shack and they said the fuse was ok, but there's no power. No power light, no response from it; it doesn't work.

Hi,

The only solution to fix this up is to call a tech and get it repaired or get it replaced if it is still under warranty.I believe there is no other home remedy for this.

Goodluck..

You could have quite easily have blown something internal.

Have a Panasonic SA-BT100 which now will not power up, there is no red standby light, have swapped the power lead to check the fuse and still no power - any suggestions ????

These unit have an internal fuse. This will mean removing the power lead, opening the case and replacing the fuse. Probably best to have a professional do it. Sorry, Shouldn't be expensive though.

There is no sound coming from the speakers on the SC-HT900 dvd home theater sound system. It used to make a loud pop sound but then would still work. Now it does not make any sounds. The dvd will play...

May be a fuse inside blown , if it makes a loud pop that can take out a fuse, If you find one blown , replace with same type and try machine .Dont replace with higher rated fuse though , if it keeps blowing. Try using headphones and if you get sound , may be speakers.

My yamaha amplifier has no power and I have plugged in the sub woofer seperate to find it still has life, what could problem be at it's worse??

Hiya, best case scenario is the amp may have just blown fuses. Will have to take the cover off to see them. Unfortunately though quite often the fuses have blown for a reason, usually either faulty power supply or one of the channels outputs have gone. Fuses should be easy to have to a look at. Just make sure the replacements you try are a match, same current rating and fast or slow blow. Best of luck

No power!

okay, this seems like either the fuse hase blown in the actual mains plug, or the mass fuse inside the device, it looks like this very small glass fuse, same size as an ordinary fuse, its just seethrough. see if you can get a replacement for it, you may need 2 open the unit to check if it has blown, it will be black or a "burnt" colour from inside! if you dont want to open it, take it to any electronics store, they are bound to check for you, but these fuses don't cost more that $1 or 50pence!

hope this helps

Power short/ bad fuse?

I had the very same problem. The dreaded blinking power light. I also dabble in electronics. I found that all that was wrong with mine was one bad cap. There are two 1000uF(microfarrid) 16V(volt) capacitors in the mid section of the power board, right next to each other. One was bulging on the top. They have an "X" on top. I replaced it with a 1000uF 35V capacitor from Radioshack. They did not have a 16 volt. (Never go down to a lower voltage) The capacitor I got was larger than the old one but I gently moved over the parts around it and got in there. After replacing this one capacitor, which I got for $1.72 tax and all, I plugged it up and no more problems! It works great! I hope this helps someone else.

Unit won't allow me to change modes

If you're NOT still under warrantee you should at least open the reciever and look for a blown fuse near where the power cable enters the set. If it is blown, it will be obvious and make sure that the set is unplugged before replacing it. If it blows again, or if it is not blown, your problem is probably in the 'X' volt regulator and you will need professional help with the repairs. You can also check the board where the components are mounted and resoled any that look bad. Brief power outages may cause the receiver to turn off on its own. If you are using a surge protector, try connecting the set directly to the wall outlet. In your case it could caused by a blown fuse, a leaky diodes or a bad solder joint at the horizontal drive transformer. All can be replaced at a local electronic or hardware store and they're easy to replace If this does not correct the problem, you may need to have your reciever serviced.
