Sounds to me like it's asking for your sound card. If you have the sound card installed, does it work? (Does it play system sounds?)
Have you gone to the Creative website and downloaded the latest drivers?
Whenever I install a program like that and it asks for hardware, it means it can't find it.
Try removing the sound card (if possible), restarting the computer, then put the card back in and start it up.
Or--remove the sound card in device manager and let Windows find it again when it starts--could be a conflict.
hope this helps
