What do you di if it keeps saying printhead missing or not installed correctly kodak 5300
I am on my 3rd print head and was told by Kodak that from November 2008 they had different print heads with a new manufacturing process which should mean they last longer.Everytime time Kodak have sent me a new head the next day free of charge so the customer service is excellent.

I'm sorry b3tto, the only solution that Kodak gave to me was refounding to me the money back and then i'd took an HP and i'm happy whith this one,
It has quite the same characteristics.
Good Luck

Return the printer to the store. I had to do it myself 3 times. First I got a 5100 with the printhead error, got a replacement the day after the scanner was producing distorted image. Upgraded to a 5300, the scanner wouldn't work at all. To avoid problems get yourself a Canon or Epson.

I live in Lyon France, i ve bought a Kodak 5300 and returned to the store to change the printer head cause a circuit burns. I plug it in different places, each time (3) a new printer with a new everything and 3 times the same problem: a printer head circuit burned. but the message was PRINTER HEAD MISSING OR NOT INSTALLED CORRECTLY .
I'm checked the electric circuit of the appartment and it works correctly.
Tomorrow i'll take another brand. I'ts a shame because i liked the Kodak.
I bought a 5300 four months ago and the print head just failed. The printer/scanner has been OK generally (apart from Reds being dull on normal paper) . I had just used it to photocopy a page (which came out great) when it stopped working altogether. The message I get is "Printhead missing, not installed correctly or has come loose".
The User Guide page 79 (not the User Help file) showed me how to remove the print head. Amazingly, the printed circuit was burned out down one line. I am now trying to track down a replacement print head (I haven't found anywhere that sells these yet). But this is after only four months of owning the printer and routine light use!
