Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console
Okay, so recently I purchased an xbox360 core off ebay. Then I bought a refurbished 20gig HD from gamestop. After hooking everything up, I got COD4 and right away began playing on xbox live with no problems what-so-ever. Recently, I tried to play the campaign mode and it just freezes up when loading and I have to restart the console. I thought it might of been the game, so I exchanged the game at gamestop, but the same thing happens. I got an error message once, but forgot what it said (I remember it said see console for details) but since then I havn't gotten an error message, it just freezes up and thats it. And today, my brother was playing Halo3 campaign and it was at a loading checkpoint and it froze up again. Could it be my HD is corrupt, or is it my system? I can still exchange the HD at gamestop under their return policy and I have a 90day warranty on the console. What should I do? Please help!
Thanks so much!

try to exchange the HDD if the issue still happens it sounds like it could be a laser problem, the laser maybe weak. if the problem still happens then the dvd drive prolly needs to be replaced. ive had this issue plenty of time before and it sometimes turned out to be the cd its self. the console might not be able to read the cd becuase of some kind of damage, try a dif 360 game.
if that dont work open up the cd and look on the dvd drive there will me a model number of a dvd drive. go to ebay.com or google.com and find a place that sells brand new or used but working dvd drive and purchase it and add it to the console. this will fix the issue of any reading cd problems.
make sure you purchase the correct dvd drive model

Definitely, try exchanging the hard drive, as it could be that it is corrupt, also try clearing the cache on the drive by following the directions on Microsoft's website, under the solutions for the system freeze ups. If this does not fix the problem, then you definitely want to get a refund for the console.
