Question about Intertherm P3RA-042K Air Conditioner

1 Answer

Compressor I have a air condition unit that blows out cold air for a little while and then the air in neither cold nor hot. I had someone come and check it out and they said the compressor was bad. Is that really the problem or could it be something else? The model I have is Intertherm T3RC-042K. I just don't want to have to spend that much money on fixing the compressor and that is not the problem. If it is the problem, is it something that can be done yourself or does a professional need to do it?

So does that mean I need to buy a new compressor or do I need to buy a whole new unit?

If the unit does blow out cold air for a few minuets then quits it could be a low pressure cut out that will turn off the compressor because the unit is low charged mening there is a leak in the sealed system i would get a second opinion and show them this post

Central air conditioning system is blowing warm air.

many, many. Is the outside unit running? If it is, is the compressor running? Feel the refrigerant lines leaving the unit. Little one should be warm. Big one should be cold, probably sweating.

Central air conditioning blowing out hot, not

Can you tell if your outside unit is running (the fan and compressor)? Sometimes it is hard to hear the compressor for the fan. If they are running then you possibly have a low refrigerant charge and need to have some added. Refrigerant pressures and temps can be checked to verify this. If they are not running then you need to find out why. If both the fan and compressor are not running then first make sure all the breakers and disconnects are closed. Then a bad contactor or capacitor could be the problem. If its just the compressor that's not running then it could still be the capacitor or maybe the compressor.

My duted air conditioning started blowing hot air instead of cold and then stopped. blew a fuse and now will not work

Sounds as if the compressor has gone bad. The blowing of hot air and then the fuse blowing lets you know the compressor is pulling a lot of amps causing the fuse to blow and no cold air could mean the compressor is locked up and therefore you need a new compressor.

House HVAC Not Blowing

If the outside unit is running and the inside unit is not, probably a problem with the fan motor itself or its capacitor. If you have to have someone repair or replace the fan $200-$250 with parts, a capacitor for a service call and part $100 or so. Check it yourself first to see if there is anything obvious broken wire, hot connection, etc if you feel safe doing that. Turn the power off first. There is also a chance the thermostat could be the problem. Have you tried running the fan on the thermostat "fan on" setting?

Not blowing cold air, do u recharge this unit?

only after you find a leak. first u have to make sure if the compressor is running at all. condenser side spinning. if compressor is not working it will blow hot air if the condenser is dirty or blocked but then u would get a minute or two of cold air then hot. you have to determine its empty or what else might be the cause before you start dumping in freon.

Air conditioning is blowing hot air, system fully charged compressor is woring

The problem is the venting door. There are vent doors that are used to switch between AC and heat. Some vehicles use a cable that opens and closes the vent doors, other cars use vacuum and some are electric.

Whatever the case may be, if you feel the cold on the tubes, then the AC is likely working, you have to get the vent door working
