Refilled cartridges not printing properly

Hi

I only bought this printer last August and have since tried to refill both the colour and black cartridges. Neither of them print properly since refilling, and I've had to go and buy more cartridges. I keep getting missing lines as if the nozzles are blocked and both cleaning and deep cleaning do nothing to correct the problem. I found a suggestion online that I should try rinsing the printhead under a tap to clear any blockages and this works temporarily (for about one or two sheets of paper) then starts 'streaking' again.

I'd be really grateful if someone could assist me please and come up with a solution to this as it's really annoying when I read about lots of other people being able to refill their Pixma cartridges with no problem!

Many many thanks in advance.

You need to know what you are doing wrong before you learn the solution to your problems:

  1. refilling cartridges can damage your printer and will most certainly void your warranty
  2. rinsing a printer cartridge under a faucet will not help it and will most likely damage your printer as well
  3. if your printer is that new and in good shape, you should buy brand name cartridges
So, my solution is this: buy brand name cartridges or have your cartridges refilled by a professional

hope this helps

Keeps saying insert colour cartridge when we have just bought a new cartridge of correct spec. Says incorrect colour cartridge installed.Impossible to get past!!!

Hi,The most common reason for missing or incorrect colors is a print cartridge with one of the following problems:
  • One or more of the ink colors is empty. The black ink and all three colors of ink in the tri-color cartridge must be available or colors will be incorrect or missing. Under normal usage, the print cartridge will run low on one color of ink shortly before all ink colors are emptied.
  • The protective tape is not removed from a new cartridge.
  • Contacts on the cartridge are not making proper contact with the print carriage.
  • The cartridge is remanufactured or refilled.
  • The cartridge is defective.

Hp 8500 refuses to print

It is a problem using refilled toner cartridges, especially in colour machines. Mono (Black) printers are usually ok to use a good quality refilled cartridge, but colour machines generally do not like them.

Have you tried to print a Configuration page from the control panel <Information> menu?

My Xerox DocuPrint M750 printer will not print black text but will print colour

This is just a suggestion. I recently bought a Staples refilled cartridge and had to return it because it did not work. When returning it the Staples Rep said that 50% of the cartridges do not work and get returned. This was an astounding amount I told the rep. Means nothing to him but to you, you may need to return the black cartridge if it is or is not a refill and try it out again. Let me know if that works.
