I had the same problem immediately after a main power outage to our house. I am using the home kit with the RoadyXT. When the power came back on, the Roady XT would show XM Satellite Radio on the display with no backlight. None of the buttons worked. I unplugged the power adapter numerous times with no change. Several times I had to use the remote to get the XM Satellite Radio message to show up as the on button would not work on the Roady. Other times the message appeared without pressing any buttons. I had a second Roady XT that was bundled with the home kit that I never used, so decided to retire the bad unit and switch to the new one. I plugged the new one into the home adapter cradle and it worked fine, so the power supply was O.K. I then tried the bad unit once more, and it immediately worked as if nothing had ever happened. So... my advice, keep trying to plug and unplug the bad unit to the cradle. Maybe wait 5 minutes between tries as that is about how long I had the replacement unit on the cradle before re trying the bad unit that now works.
I had the same problem, the screen would only show XM Satellite Radio on it. Sometimes it would scroll across the bottom, sometimes the backlight would turn on but it never seemed to connect and it did this in the car and in the house so it wasn't the power source. I remembered a fix from an old modem that used to freeze on its logo screen and basically do the same thing. Here's what I did: Plug it in and let it freeze. Unplug the power from the wall/lighter and then plug it back in quickly. Repeat this until it decides to start working. It's not exactly a great solution but it seems to work. Showing my age, but anyone else remember quickly turning on and off the power to your atari 2600 to get crazy results? Fun with solid state.

Sounds like you don't have the tuner wired properly, IF you have a stand-alone tuner, then you need one wire to a continuous 12VDC for memory, the other 12VDC that's hot in accessory position, and then the ground. IF you hook the two 12volt wires together and they're only on when the car's on, then you will lose your memory of what channel it's on. Also, when you turn the radio off, turn it off with the BUTTON - not just by turning off the car. Give it a try using the radio's POWER BUTTON for on and off, NOT just the ignition, then it will remember the channel most of the time. Okay?
Turn XM Roady2 'on' using the POWER switch. Go to MENU and go the FM Frequency. Select your frequency of an empty channel in your area, then turn off the Roady2 using the POWER switch. Do NOT do this by turning the car on and off as it tends not to save any settings when you do that. Always use the POWER button. Also, the website 'Radio-Locator' has a utility that will help you find an EMPTY FM channel in your are for your XM radio to use! Good luck and let me know how it works out for you- okay?
First, turn the radio on and off using the POWER button on the radio - do not just turn off the car or unplug it. Next, make sure your 'sleep timer' isn't set. Next, check your antenna signal level and make sure you're in a location that has at least 2 bars - move until you do.
Now, make sure that you leave the radio ON Channel 1 for at least a half an hour. You should then have your channels back - when you do get all your channels back, turn the radio on and off with the POWER switch, not by unplugging the unit, or pulling it out of the dock or turning off the car. Okay?
Yes, you need to go to your menu and select an FM channel (that isn't being used in your area) and set that in the radio. Turn your radio off using the power switch, wait, then turn it back on and you should be 'transmitting' on that FM channel now.
This problem is caused due to the fact that xm has designed there radios to completely shut off all power with the unit therefore the unit once off will not be able to recieve information from the remote. This manufacturing defect was confirmed by the xm representative, they also explained that the company is currently planning to fix this issue on the new 2009 model xpress rc
Turn the unit off and on with the power button and you should be able to get channel 1. Can you get Channel 1? If so, then call XM and ask them to send you a 'refresh' signal to reactivate your subscription on the radio. okay?
hi there..this will be like a walk in a park...first, in your home kit you should be having the ff: antenna, rca cable(audio cables), power adapter & docking station. We just have to 'placed the radio into the docking station' then we just have to plug in the ff cables into the xm receiver..we can start plugging in the rca cable(one ended connector) into the ' audio out ' of your xm radio...the other ends of the rca cables should be plug in into the 'audio in'(at the back/infront of your sound system)...plug in the antenna in the 'antenna out' of your xm( the antenna should be placed into a south facing window and not being block by tall trees and buildings outside)....plug in the power source and turn on the radio....if you got it right you should now be getting the prev.channels/emergency allerts...u can call xm to send a refresh for you to get the complete channels..or you can do it online by logging into www.refresh.xmradio.com(if the radio was already activated) if not, you have to call xm radio to activate it..enjoy listening to xm..Godbless..
if you're radio won't turn on....there are only 2 things that u need to do..first is to have the battery replaced, if it doesn't you just have to call the manufacturer/have it replaced if it has warranty...if u guys wanna save time dealing with it..
