Question about GoVideo VR3845 DVD Recorder/VCR

1 Answer

"safe" keeps me from opening dvd tray manually (must use remote control)

Suddenly, the word "safe" appears in the readable area and I cannot open the DVD tray manually. Must shut the recorder down and then press "eject" on the remote in order to open the tray.
What do I do to remove the "safe" mode?

    Unknown disk type

Press 'Disc Menu' and wait for 'no disc' to appear on the screen. Eject the tray by pressing the 'open / close' button on front of the recorder. Enter the following numbers very slowly on the remote control ' 0086000 ' Press ' OK ' button on your remote control. Close the tray by pressing ' open / close ' button on the front of the recorder. You can check this has worked by pressing ' 0009 OK ' on your remote after the tray has closed. A display will pop up on screen showing the Region as 0. This means you should be able to play discs from all Regions. If this doesn't work the first time! try again! Hope this helps!!

    3. Press the digit number buttons “2008” of remote control.
