Notchet. Apparently Phobos does something with them,
perhaps in the EISA ID EEPROM. Every person who has
posted that they work in an Indigo 2 has a card that
originally came from Phobos, for an Indigo 2.
You are not alone in trying this. I know of two
other people who bought generic 3Com cards
and have the same problem, "unrecognized board".
It may be possible to use the EISA configuration
utility (under DOS (heh!) on an EISA PeeCee) to change
the information in the EEPROM so that the Indigo 2
recognizes the board. But, I certainly don't have
an EISA PeeCee (I'm fairly certain I never WILL) to
try it.
