Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I don't have the original remote for my Magnavox TV, and the Universal Remote I got isn't working correctly. If I have the model number and srial number for the TV, is it possible to get a replacement remote? The manufacture date on the back of the TV is way back in October 1996.

Www.replacementremotes.com should have the remote just enter the model number of your set in the search box.

What is the code for a Magnavox TV model number 25R502 - 00 BB?

Your Magnavox remote should be able to control your Magnavox TV directly. Codes are stored in the remote.

I'm having problems programing my Philips RC19041006/01 remote that came with a Philips 15pf9936/37 15" LCD TV to work on a Magnavox MDV21001F7 DVD Player

Unfortunately, you will not be able to program your TV remote for the DVD Player. The MDV2100F7 was produced in 2010. Your Philips TV was has a manual with a copywrite date of 2003. Other documentation on the Philips site is from 2004 and 2006. (I am assuming that the MDV2100F7 is your model since no MDV21001F7 is listed at Magnavox or Funai (which made the unit).)

The codes in a universal remote control are only for devices released 6 months or more before the remote was programmed. A DVD player released 4 years later is likely to have a different set of control frequencies.

You need a newer remote or control everything with separate remotes. I wish that I had better news for you.

(The manual for the Philips TV is available from the Philips product site. For the Magnavox DVD player documentation, see the Magnavox (http://www.magnavox.com ) site or the Funai support site (http://www.funai.com/us ). At Funai, search for the model number but leave off the brand. They make units for a number of brands.)

Code magnavox tv with oneforall universal remote

I would recommend using the code search on the universal remote. If you don't have the remote's original instructions, usually you can google the remote (model number, manufacturer, etc.) to find out how to complete the auto-search. Good luck!

What brand is your universal remote? Best thing would be to go on the universal remote manufactures website and they should have a list of codes for models based on what model number your universal remote is. Then you can look up possible codes for your tv found in the users manual (which you can print from online) and it gives you like 5-7 codes that you try and will give you instructions on how to enter the code and save that code to your remote. I hope that helps.

Philips universal remote control

first you will need to find the model number of the universal. look it up online for the manual and code book. you should probably get the original remote that goes with your unit. type in the model number of your unit in the search on ReplacementRemotes.com and find the OEM remote.

Find a universal remote with a menu and four arrow keys, b/c Philips is out of the original. Or, you could call Philips and find the number for one of their authorized centers - a TV repair man may have a stockpile of them from cust's who abandon their TVs.

Magnavox MWR-20V6 DVD/VCR recorder fails to record one time but not the next This problem just recently started as the unit was functioning perfectly up to now. And I've kept the unit in excellent condition and free of any dust. What's happening is this. When the timer is set to record a program, the unit will turn on and begin to record. But after about 9-10 seconds of recording, it will fail and you'll see an error message saying you cannot record on this disk. FYI, this happens too when not using the timer and just pressing record. And in both cases, it's been hit or miss, so one time it successfully records no problem and the next time no. So you don't know when and if it's going to happen, which is really frustrating! What's even weirder is that once it failed, you can wait a few seconds and try recording again with possible success. So if it failed at first, it may work the next time, but who knows if it'll work after this. And even if it does work the next time, after that, it's again hit or miss. This recording problem happens even when dubbing. So it doesn't matter if you're copying from VHS to DVD, using the time, or just hitting DVD record, the same recording error happens. And as I said above, it may work the next time but who knows? And even if it worked then, anytime after that is also very hit or miss. Nobody else touches the unit and it's never been moved or banged. So again, I've kept it in very good shape and working order. No problems whatsoever on the VCR side. And I most often use DVD-R discs rather than RWs, but even with RWs, the same problem can happen. Lastly, finalizing has also become more hit or miss now when it used to be very consistent. So I don't even know when or if it'll be successful in finalizing a discs. Most times, it does work, but a couple of times, it hasn't. Lastly, a weird thing with discs that failed to finalize is this. A few of them were finally able to be successfully finalized after just sitting around for about a month of not being able to be finalized. So for whatever reason, a few of those discs that wouldn't repeatedly finalize suddenly worked. The rest of those that were not successful still cannot be finalized. And I've kept all these discs in plastic sleeves or in a disc case.
