I think its my firmware which has failed. How can i possibly save my data and secondly I not been able to run the utility to reload the firmware. please suggest.
I get an error message on the screen which indicates the firmware is corrupt. Device driver for XP recognizes and installs device but WMP and firmware update do not detect connection...Creative no longer supports this device and can offer no assistance. Tried different version of WMP and that isn't working. Any othe suggestions? Not happy with Creative's lack of concern, they suggested that I buy a new one...yeah, right, because I'm so pleased with this one...I get an error message on the screen which indicates the firmware is corrupt. Because of this customized firmware, however, it's not possible to switch out a PCB board in many cases; of course, this varies depending on the manufacturer of a drive. For instance, some older drives have the same basic information on two PCB boards of the same model, provided that both drives were made at about the same time, before more unique adaptives were programmed into the next line of drives. If one of the PCBs fails, there is some chance of making a recovery by simply swapping the boards of the two drives. However, hard drives have contained "customized" firmware on at least an occasional basis since they've become a consumer product, so the chances of a straight "board swap" working are very low. In addition, because of the unique adaptives, it is highly possible to damage a drive further by the placement of a foreign PCB. Data recovery companies must rebuild the firmware information in many situations when the PCB of a drive fails. In addition, occasionally PCB failures cause damage to other hard drive components, such as the heads of the drive (and subsequently the platters, in certain situations). Professional data recovery companies have special processes to treat these problems as well. If you think that your hard drive has a problem with its PCB board, it's important that you don't try to operate the drive any further or try switching out the PCB board with another drive's. Get your hard drive to a reputable data recovery company immediately for an evaluation. A good data recovery company will be able to quickly diagnose the drive's issues and let you know what your options are from that point.http://www.onepcbsolution.com/http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=du0Qd_3wFWM
you will need "flash magic" software, a device to provide 12V power supply to device, one cable to transfer data, download the working firmware for you device and save it to your device.
Your post/description indicates a possible problem with the firmware. It would seem that the Archos 605 would load but fail to finish and there restarts itself. This could only be possible if somehow the firmware has been corrupted or you tried a firmware upgrade but failed halfway.
There are several versions of the 605, you need to determine which one you have.
Things you can try: 1. Do a soft reset. Press on the power button for about 15 seconds; 2. Do a full/hard reset by removing the batteries and pressing the master reset button; 3. Try again the Systems Recovery. You may need also to format the internal HD but that would mean you loose whatever data is inside.
Alternately, you may need to update/re-install the firmware. A more complete and better explained firmware update procedures are here. Briefly, you have to download and save in your PC the ???????.aos file (there are several versions of the firmware. You need to determine which one is appropriate to your model), connect your 605 to the PC, copy/paste (drag & drop) the said file to the Archos device listed in "My Computer" (you may have to overwrite the older copy), disconnect 605, proceed to System Settings, tap on "Update Firmware". Follow on screen instructions.
If the above is not corrective, am afraid that your unit has been partially bricked. Some have reported serious hardware or firmware problems with the 605 that would require replacement by the manufacturer.
Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.
There could be a possibility that you've got the wrong version of firmware.
Bring your phone to the nearest Nokia Care Center and have them upgrade the firmware of your phone, because they know what's the version of firmware that would work best with your phone.
1.download the appropriate firmware from here2.press and hold reset button for 2 seconds 3.run the firmware updater 4.press and hold "play" button while connecting to system. 5.the updater will detect the player and it will upgrade the firmware.

Firmware upgrade is a simple but a delicate procedure. Make sure you are loading the correct firmware. You should get your firmware from the website of your router. Installing a THIRD PARTY firmware to your router voids the warranty of your router. Here is a tip for a successful firmware upgrade. BEFORE FIRMWARE UPGRADE(push the reset button of the router for 30 seconds then unplug the power of the router for 10 seconds). Upgrade the firmware. After the upgrade push the reset button again for 30seconds, unplug power for 10 seconds.

Hi,
Based on your post/description, the Siemens AP/Router is at fault. This could have been brought about by lightning, power surge, plain hardware failure or system/software error.
The red status light - on indicates an error (on the firmware)(blinking during start-up or when firmware is being downloaded/updated);
WAN light blinking green - data transmission to/from your ISP (it is also possible that the router is trying to download corrective software or firmware update).
Suggest you let it run for sometime just in case it is really downloading/upgrading firmware.
If full reset of the router doesn't correct the problem, you may have to replace the unit.
Good luck and kind regards.
