Question about Projection Televisions
On of the parts on the blue light board had a shock due to the screen leaking, i manage to find a tech gut who can seal the tube, but the problem now is that he is telling me that i have to replace the chip board (where the DVI Chip is and where you connect the signal cables). Does this make sense?, the sympthom is that the power light blinks 3 times and nothing hapens, he says the flyback transformer is working cus he can check the pulse on the chip and it gets ok, but the chip is not sending any pulse outside.
Is this a flyback transformer problem?
Or is he lying so i can buy the board?
Usually when the crt leaks onto the chassis it can be cleaned and the affected components only have to be replaced I am not sure what "chip" you are refering too, but most ICs can be purchased as a replacement part. usually the entire board wont need replacing unless the traces are destroyed or replacement parts are unavailable.
