Question about Refrigerators
I just bought a new water filter and need to reset the change the filter light on the door. I have a maytag plus fridge with the water dispenser on the door.
I have a Maytag Plus Refrigerator and the way to rest the water filter light is to simultaneosly hold down the "Light" and "Lock" pads until the "Change Filter" light blinks (approximately 3 seconds). This will reset the Change filter light for 12 months or for the number of gallon threshold for your filter.

Im not exactly 100% familiar with this make and model of refridgeration unit, but your best bet is to either locate the control panel either on the front door (outside, if your version has this fitted) or on the inside where the filter is installed. There could simply be a reset button, and its just a case of locating this and then pressing and holding the button for a few seconds and releasing it. May be be beneficial to double press the button in rapid motion once you have released, just to make sure that it has reset the system. It is worth noting that certain models manufactured, can often place the control boxes in very strange places, such as in the top-left-hand-side of the fridge bay, and it may be worth while having a look round for this unit.
If this fails, then you can always isolate the entire refrigeration unit from the mains for a few seconds, and then power the entire system backup again, this may reset control unit, just as long as the thing dont have its own internal backup battery to remember settings in the event of a power cut.
If even this fails, then you can always get hold of the service manual from the internet if you go to the manufacturers/ vendors website and look for your product in the service/ support section.
If after all of this, you still have no joy, then trust good old fashioned google to come up with the answer.....just type in your make and model of refridgerator, with the words "user manual" and you should get quite a few results.
Then even if this fails, you can ask me for assistance, and i will find the manual for you, and leave the link to get it here on another page when you ask me for more information. I will gladly help with this for you.
Well I hope that this is enough for you to go on for now, and I wish you all of the best of luck resolving this issue.

I have a Maytag Plus Refrigerator, and I just replaced the filter and reset the light by pushing the Lock and Light buttons, after it blinked I released the buttons and the RED LIGHT turned off. However, is there suppose to be a green light, or does the red light come on when it needs replacing, and in the meantime, there is NO LIGHT whatsoever?
