I am completely stunned by this product! Just bought the product. I am able to connect with wires to my first PC. However none of my other PC's which I am trying to connect to the router work -- The SSID does'nt even show up when searching for nearby routers! I have 130Mbps settings with WEP. My earlier router was such a charm to work with????

Whats your address? I am only interested so I can wait under the window =)

Seriously though, get a copy of a program called "Netstumbler" and run it on your PC.
It will show any wireless networks within range. The problem may not be your network so much as it could be another network that is interfering with the channel your's is set to.

Remember that wireless is a low powered form like a microwave. If you have cordless phones, microwave ovens etc close to it, then it can go nuts.

Hope it helps =)

Netgear WGT624 V3 Wireless Router Problems by BigG2 - January 16, 2007 1:17 AM PST

Hi Guys/Gals,

My wireless connection is not working and i cannot log on to it, I have connected a Netgear WGT624 V3 Wireless Router to my Motorola SurfBoard SB5101E Modem which is connected to Telewest Cable Broadband (internet works fine if i access directly through the modem), on the router the power light is lit and also the internet light flashes rapidly but the wireless light comes on for a couple of
seconds and then goes out - i think this is the problem? I have tried logging on to the router to check the wireless settings but cannot access it, i have also tried connecting directly via LAN but cannot get this to work either although i am not sure if i have connected it correctly?

Any ideas/comments/advice is very much appreciated!!

Thanks in advance,

NetGear NETGEAR WNDR3300 RangeMax Dual Band router

The Netgear wireless router wireless settings need to be configured and the the wireless card in the computer and XBox needs to be configured with the Netgear wireless settings.
Follow these steps. : -
1. Connect the wireless router to your computer with a LAN cable.
2. Start your browser and enter the router's configuration URL
3. Enter the router setup login and password
4. Change the admin password
5. Go to the wireless settings and change the default SSID and turn off SSID broadcast.
6. Setup encryption key the strongest is WAP2
7. For further security measures - turn on MAC address filtering and enter the MAC address of the wireless cards on the computer/s you want to connect to this wireless router.
8. Record the settings you have made and keep it in a safe place and Save the settings.
9. Configure the wireless cards on the computer/s with the SSID and encryption settings of the router.
10. Remove the LAN cable between the router and the computer then the computers should be able to connect to the router.

Netgear Wireless Router won't work with my Linksys wired router.

As asked above, why would you want the wired router and the wireless router on the same network?

The direct answer to your question(s) is found on Netgear's website. http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/965/kw/wpn824/r_id/166

The key is to turn off the Netgear DHCP, and give it an address that is unreachable by the Linksys DHCP ie if the Linksys gives out IP addresses starting at 100 or 101, you set your IP address to 99, turn off the DHCP, and plug it into the network NOT using the WAN port, ever. We tend to start at 251 or 221 just for clarity's sake.

The point is you answered your own question. The Netgear wired and wireless works fine. One piece of equipment and better reporting statistics....what are you missing?

1 of the 2 computers cant get online

Pleaase check if the PC connects when plugged directly to the DSL or cable connection whatever you have without the router in between. That would ensure the functionality of the ethernet card on the other pc.

Worked Fine and then my computer did not recive a wireless connection, and nao cant play my 360 :[

make sure the wireless part of the router is working fine by trying a computer to connect wirelessly to the router. if it connected fine then it is a matter of matching the wireless settings of the router and the xbox in order for them to synchronize properly.
