I had hooked up my canon camera to the computer to burn some cd..
i have done this before..but now i always get a memory card error when putting th ecards back in the camera to use...says card is locked..the cards are not locked and i can use them in other cameras..so i tried to format the cards in this camera..but on the menu it will not highlight the format so i can do that,,it just skips over the work format..

Look at your memory card. SD/SDHC cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.
The S2 IS uses SD cards. While SDHC cards will fit into the slot, they are electronically incompatible and will not work. While you can use SDHC cards with the SD750, you will have to use SD cards, 2GB and smaller, with the S2 IS.
This camera will not accept high capacity mem cards. You are limited to the 2GB size, but that is not much of a limitation since this 5 megapixel camera can be set to put more than 2,000 pictures on a 2GB chip.
Perhaps I am not understanding your question. Are you talking about the camera giving a "memory card error" message or some other device?
Some cameras require a new Firmware update of it's internal brain so it can recognize larger capacity memory cards. Check out your cameras website, look up the FAQ column or support and see which memory card sizes are compatible.... Good luck
