Question about RCA 25415RE3 Phone

1 Answer

RCA 25415RE3 I have this phone in my office, the only thing that it WILL do is pick up phone calls on line one and call out on line one. No matter whether someone else in the office is using line one or not my phone picks up on that line. None of the buttons work or are usable. Its almost like its acting like a ONE LINE phone with no other capabilities when clearly it should have functioning speaker phone, hold, volume, redial, privacy, page, transfer, mute, Please let me know if you have any solution to my problem I have already tried switching out the batteries..using different electrical sockets, and switching around the phone chords.

May 21, 2008 - I have the same phone. I've had problems from the start but I thought, for the money, I'd start my business off with it. The first thing that happened is the answering machine stopped working on Station one - they replaced the phone - same problem so I had the second station answer instead. Now, as of last week, no message there, yet when I check the greeting, it is there. No one could ever hear us when using the speaker phone. The Directory that holds phone numbers - if you need a name that starts with a "Z" poor you. You can't press the "Z" and go straight to Z. You have to press the arrow from A to Z. The handset volume is so low at the highest arrow that they cannot be used. This was the worse phone I've ever had.

All of the "features" you are having problems with require AC power, I think you have a bad power supply, the plug on the phone is bad or something inside has fried. If you have tried switching the power adaptor with one that you know works then look at the plug in the phone. Make sure the contact is clean and not damaged. If this does not work you may have to replace the phone.

Hello Tedelen,

Be sure to meet all the requirements of the phone to make calls and to be fully operational. These requirements can be found here (Requires Adobe Acrobat Reader).

To make a phone call follow these instructions:

Making calls with the Handset
1. Pick up the handset and the phone automatically selects the priority line. If the priority line is occupied, it selects an open line.
OR
Pick up the handset and press a LINE button to select a line.
2. Wait for a dial tone, then dial a phone number.
3. Hang up the handset when finished.

Making Calls with the Speakerphone

How do I undo call forwarding on an RCA 25415RE3-A telephone?

Call forwarding is a function of your service provider. CALL FORWARD VARIABLE you control by dialing a code then then number you wont to forward your calls to, *72-685-2900. To disable the forward dial *73. There are different codes for each phone company, you may have to contact them for the code they use.

Another type of forwarding is setup by the phone company, CALL FORWARD BUSY/NO ANSWER. This type of forwarding you have to call the customer service line at your phone company to have them remove it. I use this type for my voice mail and call routing service, All Call Technologies.

VoIP setup with 2 lines - Both lines pick up on outgoing calls

It does not matter that you have VoIP or traditional telco with the problem you are describing. I think you have a problem with the adaptor or a wire. Check the connectors and the plugs in the phone to see if anything is bent.

Phone is not recording all messages left

The 25414RE3 isn't the model with the answering machine. The one that has the answering machine is the 25415RE3.

As for the problem, does the answering machine part of the unit actually pick up the line? Does it announce your pre-recorded message? Does it just not record the caller's response?
