Onboard means the sound card is incorporated with the motherboard.

where as

An addon card is plugged into one of the expansion cards located on the motherboard. If you are looking at the back of the case you will see two or three narrow rectangular shaped slots towards the bottom of your case. If your speaker cable plugs into one of those slots then you have an expansion card, if not then you have onboard sound.

Just give me the make and model of your computer and I will look for the driver.

You can disable onboard graphic on BIOS. Make changes to start on discrete graphic not dual graphic ( discrete vga+onboard vga )

Onboard computer

Which onboard computer are you looking for? Your vehicle is equipped with at least four onboard computers, and possibly up to seven of them, depending on how your Cirrus is equipped.

2 video card detected. onboard card are desable. PCIe card EN210GT. card detected first EN210 second 6150se MB MSI-7309 K9N6SGM-V

use your PCIE card to boot-up from CMOS, then check your onboard vga, try to configure it by 1st boot is your onboard, if that wont work then maybe your onboard vga was already damaged, better to use pcie video card rather than an onboard because it lets you consume the whole amount of your memory unlike the onboard card.. THanks

How to install the code28

Are you using a PCI sound card rather than the onboard sound? The onboard is listed as "ADI AD1888; 5.1 channel audio" & IMO, it's much better than "C-Media CMI8738/C3DX Audio".
If you are using a PCI soundcard, did you disable the onboard sound in the BIOS? The drivers for the onboard can be found here:

Problem with onboard video of a compaq sr2032x

The onboard video card is actually set to secondary when you plug in a PCI or PCI-E video card. If no video image is showing then there may be further damage inside the mother board.

Onboard sound card not working (ASUS A7S333). I had a pci sound card and removed it to go back to the onboard sound.

You have to refresh your system by deleting the old sound card driver in the control panel or add/remove programs . Then restart the pc to detect the old onboard sound card driver. Then install the onboard sound card driver using the supported motherboard cd driver.

I need gate performance 1400 display adaptor...any idea on how to get my display going?

good day sir, if you are talking about the onboard vga, you may need to go to CMOS setup and locate the settings in where you need to choose the Onboard vga. there are several options. PCI/AGP/PCIe/onboard, select the onboard one. hope this helps. if you have any more questions feel free to ask. thanks.

How to unsinstall my onboard sound card drivers

Hi,
You can usually disable your onboard sound card by going into your BIOS setup when your PC starts. Older mother boards have a jumper setting on the board to disable onboard sound. If you cannot do either of these, then just disable your onboard card in "device manager"
Best wishes,

Hp compaq dc5000 small form factor

Hi, uninstalling the onboard video will only be reinstalled by Windows next time you boot up. Disabling it in the Device Manager might and mght not do the trick if your mb is set on using the onboard. You might want to try and disable the onboard video in the CMOS/BIOS set-up. In some instances, you are asked in the BIOS what video will be used such as onboard, AGP or PCI or a selection of something like that. Also you can try and not allocating any memory to the onboard video. Hope this be of some help. Pls post again how things turn up. Good luck.
