There is a notch taken out of the rear of the cams, you have to remove the valve cover to see them, there is a tool you slide into the grooves to hold the cams in time, i made my own tool out of a piece of square steel rod.

remove the rocker cover and the timing marks are on the back of the cams ,on the end are two slots one on each cam ,use a flat piece of metal to lock into place with teh valves on NO1 cyl pointing upwards and outwards and no1 cylinder at the TDC find this by using a screwdriver down the plug hole ,right er indoors waiting to go to market if in any doubt please post a reply and i will answer it later today.best of british with it
