GE tFX26KR side by side leaks water onto floor

Bottom of freezer compartment collects water.

once this fills and freezes, more water spills onto floor

drain at back of compartment (higher than floor) does not have frozen water near its mouth - how can it be plugged? regardless, how do I make sure it's clear? don't I risk damaging a plastic drain with a metal ~sharp probe?

I ran an organic solvent down the drain, and that seemed to do the trick. Thanks!

With our GE Side-by-Side... water collects on floor of freezer. don't believe it is the ice maker. Do believe it is the the drain on the freezer's back wall. The tray beneath it is full of ice. How does the drain stay open? Where does the water go? Is this drain just for condensation? Help! Thanks!

I read this on-line and it worked for me - - pour HOT bleach water down the drain once you get the ice out. I had this problem for ages and would periodically clear the ice out of the bottom of the freezer but since the bleach water went down that hole it has been clear for months. Of course I discovered my s/s had been recalled for a water problem.

The GE recalls are a joke anyway - a credit toward buying another GE product. Nope, I am replacing my GE's one at a time with a different vendor.

Remove the back of the unit at the bottom where the compressor is, it is held in place with 5/16ths screws. locaate the drain tube going to the drain pan, it is held in place with a spring type clamp, remove the drain tube and run water through it till it is clean and not obstructed, reinstall all parts

GE side by side leaks water from icemaker tube

Your drain tube may be stopped up with ice at the upper end because it drains too slow because it's stopped up at the lower end in the evaporator pan under the unit at the floor. It can get dust and mold in it. Once you get the ice out at the top a little pressure with a turkey baster will usually clear it out. Flushing it out with hot water and clorox may help.
Make sure it drains quick enough to prevent refreezing. . The drain should be located below the evaporator coils on the lower back of the freezer.

Amana bottom freezer: water leaking & ice build-up

There should be some kind of drain at bottom of freezer compartment to collect and run off any condensate that collects during defrost cycle.. Clean out the drain and snake out the line that leads from it. Right now the liquid is collecting where it should not and it will leak out the gasket when you have enough of it.

GE Freezer Leaking

Open the freezer door, remove the bottom tray, smash the ice on the floor with your fist to remove it. Now get a glass of hot water and pour it into the trough which is at the bottom of the back wall of the freezer. Allow a few minutes for the ice to melt then remove it with an ice pick or scrrewdriver. Once the ice is out, pour more hot water into the trough. Now take a long tube ( an old washer fill hose works perfectly) and stick one end in the hole in the trough. Now fill your mouth with warm water and blow it very hard through the tube. Once the drain is clear, pour some hot water and a very little amount of bleach through the hole.

GE TFX20JR side by side/water leaks out freezer during defrost

Yes, you are correct, that is a drain. Use a turkey baster with hot (not boiling) water to flush out the drain tube until water will flow out into the drain pan under the refrig. (where the air blown over it will cause it to evaporate)

Freezer leaking on Ge Profile

The drain is frozen over and water cannot escape when it defrosts. You will need to remove the back panel inside the freezer and run some hot water down the drain until it has thawed. Hope this helps
