Question about Fujitsu LifeBook P1120 Tablet PC
Now when I plug my Usb memory device, is recognized by the PC, but when I try to access it displey the messaje "NEED TO BE FORMATED"
help me to recover the data!
Recently I got a Fujitsu p1120 lifebook from e-bay - the unit works fine but the hard drive was wiped clean (no restore image, etc.) so I removed it and formatted it in a micronpc transport gx3 notebook using a windows xp sp2 service copy.
I reinstalled the drive and tried to boot the little computer only to find that after the initial startup screen starts it locks up.
I checked the usb ports and they work giving me a message "format drive" when a memory stick adaptor is used. Now I read that by changing the boot sequence using cmos to force the usb port as the first boot device and a usb cd rom I can reformat the drive in the machine using my service copy of win xp sp2.
I ordered an external usb cd rom new from ebay and plan to try the suggested method. It's clear you have to format the drive in a fujitsu machine, I've run across this many times in the past with other computers like compaq and hp and was just wondering if you had any advice or pearls of wisdom regarding this task I would be very grateful.
I referbish computers and give them to underprivliged kiddos in my neighborhood so this repair will touch a very needy child, thank you so very much for your help and advice - I eagerly await your reply.
