It means something is blocking the paper passage. Check whether there's any paper or something obstructing the passage of the paper, if so clear them. Good luck. Thanks for using FixYa.

Carraige jam. Screen says to clear carriage jam

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Also clean The purge unit, called a spittoon assembly in an HP, Lexmark, Caonon and other inkjet printers, is where the print head assembly parks when not in use, also its other job is to clean and make sure the print head is clean and open for printing.

That is where you'll find the print head assembly parked on top of it.
It also has an electrical pump to milk the print heads and test for ink flow.

So clean all under where the heads are parked and on IP6600D models you can take out the heads just by clipping them out, and then clean well.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

My printer keep saying clear carriage jam but there isnt anything that is still jamed. How do i fix this problem . I can't get it to work now

The printer is telling you that something is jamming the printer carriage, or the rod, that the print cartridges ride on. Open your printer up to where you would install your print cartridges, either front load or top load. See if you can find anything in the path of its movement.
Remove it, and try printing again.
Look for paper that may have jammed recently in the printer.
If that doesn't fis it, try moving the printer cartridge holder manually and then try to clear the message again.
Hope this helps.....

Carriage Jam

Carriage jams that constantly occur are due to something in the path of the paper or a dirty feed roller. I would inspect it very carefully for any type of ware on the rollers or sticky rollers or anything that could interfere with the path of the paper. Could be at one point someone tried to print labels and one got stuck in there and was never cleaned properly.

Another thing could be something broke off and the feed guide is out of alignment.

Printer is not working

Try pushing the print head carriage with a bit of gentle force. It is getting stuck, and hence the error. You may have to open side and top covers to reach this. Note: this is not the cartridges, but another device that moves back and forth on the slider carriage.
