I think when you put a document or item on the glass, instead of using the form feeder, the copier does not know what size paper to use. If you select the drawer by touching the drawer on the screen, like LT, or LGL, it will copy the item on the glass, and print the copy from the drawer you specified. Ours does this if we put things like receipts on the glass.
It just wants to know what drawer to use.

Double sided printing with Toshiba Studio 3510c series

In the middle of the main screen (in copy mode) there is a big button called "simplex 1 to 1" or it may say "duplex". on the next screen you'll see different ways to do duplex copies. if you have a double sided original then select 2 to 2 / if you have 2 single side originals then select 1 to 2. Place originals in the document feeder and press start

Minolta EP4320 - How to clear the "Cd" error code

A "CD" code means some thing is not closed correctly or attached correctly. It has been a very long time scine I worked on one, but I believe that when you added the duplex unit there is a bottom part of the duplex unit that is held on with two screws at the bottom and one shoulder screw at the top. From what I remember is that if the bottom part of the duplex unit is not flush withe copier stand and the top part of the duplex unit the joggers will not move and there is a sensor flag that get stuck in the bottom part of the duplex unit. Also, di you connect all of the connector for the unit that goes inside the copier it's self. You are dealing with a copier that is over 10 to 15 years old. Good Luck

Toshiba 3550 Document Feeder

1- you've already established that the jamming is coming from the sorter, since you said they jam as they exit the copier into the sorter bin.
2- check to see if the sorter is aligned, is one side higher than the other? is it crooked? are the wheels of the sorter turning as the paper exits the copier, is it plugged into the copier? does it show "connect sorter" when detached from copier?
if not the sorter board may be bad.It may need to be aligned ( not easy if not used to doing.)
