Maybe you have a piece of paper that is stuck, or you need to clean it up and put a little bit of oil on the rod where the carriage is driven....

I get continous carriage jams if I use short paper - Legal cut in half - 8.5 x 7 inch. Printer does not have a nice paper picker.
