Question about Audiovox VOH1502 15 in. Car Monitor

1 Answer

Question escalated to PREMIUM Level

FYI: BELOW are the exchanges between myself and the Audiovox support(???) folks.
I have to think if there was an actual wiring diagram and a parts exchange available I MIGHT be able to fix this.
BTW I can work-around the "remote" issue.
TIA, Jim

Hi Brian,

I think you may have inadvertently delete my latest message (See BELOW)

I'd like to get a copy of the appropriate pages of the service manual so I can, possibly, effect repairs.

Also, elec volume pad part availability.

Hi Brian,
As suggested, I "unplugged" the VOH1502 in hopes ofd, perhaps, re-setting the uncontrollable volume problem.
Re-installed and found the same problem.
As returning the unit for repaid at a flat rate of $250. makes NO SENSE, I'd like to take one more shot before I give up.
I suspect the unit may need a new control pad but I can't figger a way to open the unit.
Is there an on-line service manual available or perhaps a technician might be able to send a PDF of the pertinent sections so I can inspect/clean/check the contacts.
Also, of course, is there a list of replacement parts?
TIA, Jim

RE: RE: Read: Troubleshooting/Repair suggestion
Most likely you will not find a store bought universal remote,
cable/satellite box remote or other manufacturer's universal remote with
our coding/frequencies in there. These universals deal with primarily
home consumer electronics, almost no mobile electronics. Note that the
"4-digit code" is just a reference # for the coding/frequencies already
stored in the remote from the remote manufacturer. This "code" is
arbitrary and created by the remote control manufacturer, not by the
device manufacturer. If the remote doesn't already have this
information stored in it, the only way you can add this is if it is a
"learning" remote. If yours is a learning remote, follow the
instructions in the manual for your learning remote control for
"teaching" the TV's remote commands to it.
The best way to think of it is the 4-digit codes are like the page
numbers in the index of a book, the IR coding/frequencies are the text.
If the correct coding/frequencies (text) isn't already programmed into
the remote (book), you can not add the code (turn to a page that's not
in the book) after the fact, unless it is a learning remote control.

As far as the volume issue, try removing power from the TV to reset the
software. See if that helps. Beyond that, it could be a stuck volume
control button or other hardware related issue.

Hi Brian,
I sent a note last week (appended BELOW) regarding my Audiovox LCDs
Any help? or perhaps you can direct me to the proper person?
TIA, Jim

Hi Audiovox RV Service Group,
I recently acquired a motorhome which had an Audiovox (#VOH1502) monitor
installed in May 2005.
I also the VOD1048 in the rear bedroom.
The TV is very nice for my application.
I have 2 issues with the #1502 I just can't 'figger. I hope you can
help. (WEB LINK or PDF response will be fine.)
#1.) In as much as the Audiovox Remote is missing I need CODE #s to
program a typical all-purpose remote.
I DO have Direct TV Satellite but have been unable to find appropriate
code for that controller either.
#2.) The TV will not hold steady volume. For no apparent reason, the TV
will increases volume up to 100.
When the volume spikes, it shows the "volume grid" on the screen.
This problem is persistent. Manually click-it-down and in moments or
minutes it will go-right-up again.
Any suggestion, part replacement or work-around would be appreciated.

Hello,
You can search this database for the service info you seek about your tv here:
http://www.samswebsite.com/photofacts.html

Most service manuals with schematics cost about $27.95 for the PDF version of it, otherwise the paper version is about $15.00 more for handling and shipping.

You will need the chassis number of the unit in question in order to search for it. I hope this helps!

Good Luck!

How many levels of escalation are there on fixya

Escalate is a process on FixYa that ensures each and every question you ask receives the attention it deserves.
When you ask a question on FixYa it initially goes to our Level 1 Experts. If these experts do not have an answer they can immediately escalate it to our Level 2 Experts, who have more experience solving problems on FixYa and are more likely to have your solution. This same process occurs when Level 2 Experts escalate a question to Level 3.
Questions can also be escalated by time-- if your question has not received an answer three hours after being posted it will automatically be escalated to Level 2; no answer after 12 hours of being posted will automatically escalate your question to Level 3.

Fixya question leval definitions

FixYa experts are broken down by levels based on the number of solutions they have provided over time. When you first submit your problems it is sent to the level one experts.

When your problem is escalated, this means that it is sent up to the next level of expert. Escalation can be done automatically based on the time since you have asked your question or manually by an expert that feels a higher level expert may be able to help with your problem.

Hope that helps!

I went to gamestop and ordered the escalation map pack for black ops then when i got home i found out it was a code for the first strike map pack (which i already have) is there a way i could exchange?

If Gamestop doesn't let you return it you can always call up Microsoft support and try to get an exchange on the product. And if they don't let you exchange it you can sell the code on eBay so you receive all the money back allowing you to buy the right map pack

Configure to make pc invisible on net

please call dlink tech support at 877-453-5465. just an advise on how to handle the call when you reach dlink tech support (agent); do not agree to call back after you troubleshoot with them (they'll be giving you a case id reference# and be advising you to check your pc or call "who" and call them back to continue the troubleshooting). insist to the agent that he need to resolve the problem asap (by the way, agents are not allowed to drop the call or they'll be dead-history!). and if the agent still insisted you to call back, ask for a "senior level technician" to finish the job (escalate the problem).
fyi: dlink tech support handling time to resolve a call is 15 to 18 minutes only. if you reach that 15-18 minutes (max) time the agent will think of a way for you to call back (advising you to check with your pc manufacturer, check with your ISP, call microsoft to update your software, etc... non-sense!) they need to do this in order to reach their handling time (agents need to reach 21 to 25 billable calls, and billable calls are "solution provided", "resolved", and "dropped call"). ---- believe me, i was one of them and repented.

Sync my contacts and calendar from outlook to iphone

You are on the right track.
You need to install the SBS 2003 SP2 package.
It contains Windows Server 2003 SP2 and Exchange 2003 SP2 along with other important updates. (It is a big download.)
Install all of the updates staring with Windows Server SP2.
Once you complete the install of Exchange SP2 your iPhone should sync.

FYI: If you use Remote Web Workplace you will need to forward TCP port 4125 on your firewall to your SBS server after this update or RWW won't work properly.

I hope this helps.
