Question about RCA OPAL M4001 MP3 Player
JUST RECENTLY I'VE HAD PROBLEMS ADDING SELECTED MUSIC FROM WINDOWS MEDIA PLYER TO THE OPAL(PURCHASED 3 MONTHS AGO).
MY EDITED LIST OF FILES WILL COPY AND FULLY COMPLETE (NO ERROR MSG); THEN THE OPAL PLAYER WILL DISCONNECT... WINDOWS MEDIA WILL SAY NO PLAYER IS CONNECTED... ? I HAVE PLENTY OF SPACE LEFT ON THE PLAYER.. WHAT IS UP?
Also, what personally happened to me was that I had accidentally taken the RCA Product Detection off "Start with Windows" when I was cleaning up ****.
If you don't have the RCA Product Detection program running, your mp3 player will keep disconnecting and reconnecting.
It worked for me at least. Let me know if this helps.

Try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.
