Question about Dewalt DC011 AM/FM Radio

1 Answer

Radio not working.

Tried new AA batteries, no display or anything. Still charges batteries of mains.

Was reading about looking on the circuit board for a faulty fuse or something, but I wouldn't have a clue what I am looking at.

My dewalt radio charges, but has no display and wont play anything at all

Try this if the display seems stuck on the same station: If you take off the front of the radio (don't forget 2 screws in back!) you will notice a set of black and red wires running from the 2 AA backup batteries to the digital display circuit board. The wires plug into the board with a little white plug. If you unplug this the display will fade to nothing. If you plug it back in it will display an unset digital clock format. This seems to reset the radio, after which it should work.

I had this problem recently. If you take off the front of the radio (don't forget 2 screws in back!) you will notice a set of black and red wires running from the 2 AA backup batteries to the digital display circuit board. The wires plug into the board with a little white plug. If you unplug this the display will fade to nothing. If you plug it back in it will display an unset digital clock format. This seems to reset the radio or something. And then it works.

Don't be mis-led by the working display. I had the "no power" problem with a working display too. I measured the voltage of the two AA batteries. One was 1.33 volts and the other was only 0.76 volts. Replaced the weak AA and everything worked. I suspect the 'enable' circuitry fails around/below 2.1v.

are you aware if the AA battery are weak it looses it radio station.if u replace the AA battery already the display board should be replace. in case it need 2 or 3 board go for max cost repair rather than replacing individual parts by your self it will cost u more. at the center they can discount the cost of the repair ask for max cost if needed.

Radio not working

Have you tried changing the AA Batteries, sounds simple, but a lot of people forget to try this. When they go flat, they lock the radio out and nothing will work. HHM Dewalt Agent
