Question about Televison & Video

1 Answer

I bought a Panasonic TX-26LMD70 the other day and the picture is coming up quite pixelated. I have checked the signal strength and it is fine and have also altered the settings such as contrast, sharpness, etc. and is still quite poor. I have looked through loads of forums and faq's and can't find anything useful. Can you please help? Thanks

I have my PS3 connected via a HDMI cable and the graphics on the blu-ray game Uncharted (running at 720p) looks great, however when I play a dvd through it (running at 576p) it looks quite grainy but no where near as bad as watching analogue or digital tv.

Could it be a dodgy HDMI cable?

Is the picture like this on all inputs? Have you tried a DVD as a source? Please update this with more info and I'll provide you more details.

Pixelated picture on all channels when viewing tv through xw380 recorder

If you are in a good reception area and your tv channels are coming fine it does look like a recorder issue, try another HDMI cord just to be safe, now when you tried in the shop was that through a different tv? if that is the case the input signal needs to be checked with another device.

Pixelation of TV channels via Settop box

Pixelation is caused by poor signal strength. Check the signal strength in the setup section. Unfortunately some boxes and TVs don't handle poor signal as well as others. It might be worthwhile trying a signal amplifier

Panasonic 42 inch Viera Pixel Distortion

We have the TH-42PX70A which has the same problem. It comes and goes..It is only 2yrs old, warranty has run out. The moving red pixels are on the black and the cyan pixels are on the white. It will go away for months and then return for a few days. It is not an antenna problem as the signal is still there.I am taking it in today for the tech to look at, but I turned it on this morning and it is fine. So I wont be able to show him.. (took pics though).Everyone says they are the "best" and all that, but every now and then you get a lemon. If it turns out to be too costly, I will buy a new one and it wont be a Panasonic.

Off and on signal

Welcome to the world of digital broadcasting. Chances are the antenna isn't positioned quite right for the station that's giving you trouble. It's not a TV issue or problem with the converter since other channels are fine, so it comes down to signal strength. Most of the time it's okay, but sometimes when band conditions change it gets weak enough that the converter box can't tune it. You might try shifting the antenna slightly while noting signal strength on the different channels. You'll likely find a few degrees change may give you a reliable signal on the problem channel without noticeable reduction in the others.

Pixelated lcd tv picture

usually this issue is caused by a week signal issue, those tv's need a stronger signal than an analog tv, i would call the cable company, have them come out and hook a meter to that cable, they may sujest a house amp, usually charge 50 bucks for it
