Toshiba 2455 S305 Laptop

I'm getting horizontal white lines on the LED display. It used to be ONE white line & has now increased to FOUR white lines. Paul Solomon-Pensacola, FL

You are obviously Greek. I hope you enjoy Feta Cheese Salads, French Fries done in Olive Oil, Goat and an occasional glass of Retsina (always served in Athena and Souda Bay).

My problem sort of healed itself (white lines gone). However, I've decided to buy a new machine from Best Buy and donate this one to charity while it still works.

Hello Paul,

Do you see these lines...
(A) As soon as the computer has been turned on?
(B) Only after entering into your operating system user profile?

I suspect the answer is (A). If it is, then it is quite possible the LCD panel has failed.

A quick way to pin this down is to connect an external monitor to your computer. If the problem does not show up on the external monitor then, indeed, your LCD panel has failed and will need to be repaired or replaced.

Please, post back w/ the results of your having tried an external monitor along w/ any other comments and observations you might have.

    If the issue appears on the external monitor as well, then we must consider the possibility of an issue w/ your laptop computer's integrated (built-in) video hardware.



    Please, let us know the results of this test then we will be able to direct you in the next steps to take.

    How did it go? Did the information I provided you w/ enable you to determine whether your LCD panel had failed or not?

Go to toshiba website. Click on support. Click on download. Choose a category, since this is a laptop. Select laptop and for the family. Select satellite. For the model, type on the model finding filter the 2455-S305 then click go. slect your all operating system and wi-fi. you will see there the available driver for your pc.

Ive got a toshiba 2455-s305 laptop that won't turn on. I've tried it using the power cord, with and without the battery, and when I plug it in it start's flashing in the front, but won't turn on.


Remove battery and disconnect power cord. Press power button for about 5-10 seconds (without battery and power cord) Connect power cord only then turn it on.

2455-S305 goes to black scr w_fast blinking cursor


Hello there:
when you replaced the hard dive did you go into the bios and make sure that the harddrive was recognized and set up as the primary drive.
also you may be able to get around this by pressing the reset buttona on the back of the unit and hold in and turn on the power at the same time
than release after 10 seconds and if this still doesent work try to boot by pressing the f12 key as it starts up ok?

My toshiba satellite A-135-S4477is showing lines vertical on the screen


you have a bad display, if you press around the OUTSIDE around the display while the computer is on they should disappear, until you stop pressing on it the top and bottom are the areas to press upon with you forefinger and thumb, NOT THE DISPLAY, this will tell you, you have a damaged display and it needs replaced.

Vertical lines are appearing on my toshiba laptop


first try to hook it into an external monitor if it looks good,I would have to say you have a damaged cable on your monitor.if you are comfortable taking it apart you can try to reseat the ribbon cable on the mobo.you can usually find an online manual for disassembly.
