Either the charger is faulty or the wire on the charger, or where the charger goes into the phone is broken from the circuit board on phone, or contacts bent or dirty.  Did you try charging with a USB cable from computer - if this works, then charger is at fault. You may have to let charge for a few minutes before attempting to turn on phone.

the best option would be to take it to a cellphone repair shop or the shop youbought it at as the chip board is most probably shorting somewhere

Just bought a new Blackberry storm 9530 and it is not getting charged. Please help
Usually for brand new phones, the battery needs to be charged for two hours. But if you found out after it's been a while and it's not charging, make sure the battery is inserted correctly. If it's and the led is not on or no charge indicator, do the following, take out the battery, unplug the charger from the phone, press and hold the power button for five seconds. This drains out the battery. Now put the battery back in, plug the charger into the phone and let charge. Don't worry if it doesn't recognize it immediately. I hope this helps

My blackberry storm 9350 is charging on the usb and it has a solid red light that goes off every 30 mins. The phone will not turn on.
Try pulling the battery out a few times or maybe even replacing your battery. This used to happen to my phone all the time and it has suddenly stopped doing it- I'm not sure what triggered it but if I were you I would just keep taking out the battery and unplugging/replugging the phone into the charger, and pressing and holding the power button until it turns on.

Charging my phone
Hello,

It is better to charge while it is off because incase of any unwanted or unpredicted power outage, With the phone off, it will not have any effect on it.

You can also leave it on if your line is always busy but i advice you power off to charge.

Unplug the charger from the phone. Pull the battery and wait one minute. Reinstall the battery and then reconnect the charger to the phone. The phone may not start up if the battery is completely dead, but you should see the green light fade on and off. If this is happening, let it charge for an hour or so before attempting to power it on. Also, make sure you use the correct home charger. I have had charging issues when I previously used car chargers in this situation.
